(D1, ME) Everyone wants to be a Sailor (Play)

[Seppun Yuzu]

Minae returns the bow graciously, holding it for an extra moment for the appreciative Seppun.

"Indeed, Seppun-sama, I felt all the Fortunes smiling upon me as the hour drew nearer. I hope that your wait for this evening was similarly pleasant." she says with a small smile.

He would smile awkwardly at that. But as often happen with the Miharu, there's no smile. Just the awkward part remains. He spent quite some tie making sure the outfit looked fine. So, he just nods, neither confirming or denying, just complying. Then, he asks, "I thought I arrived a bit late. It doesn't seem the case, ne?"

[Bayushi Minae]

"Well it is fortunate that play has not started yet. But I'm sure that Seppun-sama is well familiar with those beneath him waiting for Seppun-sama. After all, Seppun-sama's time is all the more valuable then those beneath him, ne?" she offers.

"Well... If I am not an example, how can I expect others to follow suit." He mentions, scratching his back. "I am glad, though, that I made in time and... oh-" He says, and produces a small plucked rose, "I thought this would look good on Bayushi-san... since she mentioned ikebana and other arts, the other day."

Then, he offers, fully prepared to insist in this small token until she eventually accepts. He did risk the ire of the garden keeper upon him for that.

[Matsu Ishioka]

Yasu's smile fades to some concern at the obvious urgency but nods once. "Of course, Matsu-san. Many apologies, Kakita-san, but we should certainly speak another time, i hope."

With proper farewells, and bows, she follows the young Matsu inside. There's no wasted chatter, just a simple, "what's happened?"

Ishioka takes a seat and, as Yasu's question comes, his eyes close in thought.

"I am surprised to hear I look well. It has been seven months and 15 days [since mid-autumn] since my sister Hachiko was killed. I have not... been attentive... to much beyond immediate duty in that time." Even the stoic Ishioka seems extra stony as he shares this, speaking slowly and without emotion.

The two play the game that has only one honorable ending, which is the Bayushi accepting the rose.

"It is lovely, Seppun-sama. Tonight it will adorn me for the play, and then when I retire to quarters, I will seek to press and dry it to leave me with some small reminder of the evening spent with you." she assures him.

He nods, "I'll do my best to make it a good reminder." Looking at the other seats, he asks, "Any expectation for the play?"

[Kuni Yasu]

Yasu's smile fades to some concern at the obvious urgency but nods once. "Of course, Matsu-san. Many apologies, Kakita-san, but we should certainly speak another time, i hope."

"Oh! I am so sorry." A bit embarrassed she adds, "my autumn and winter were at the Wall and beyond. It kind of shifts my impression of what 'well' looks like, it seems. Sorry to miss those signs." More carefully she asks, "How?" She's not sure a Lion would be as upset if she'd fallen in battle, but... that's a rather broadassumption.

[Kakita Sakura]

"Oh, Kakita-sama" Emiko bowed to the woman, and gave her a smile "I hope you are well. Are you looking forward to the performance?"

“Indeed I am, Usogawa-sama- and would enjoy it even more with company, if you might be willing?”

A forwards gesture, perhaps, but one that could be easily interpreted as friendship as well.

Sakura can't see, but her servant surely will, the lift of darkly painted eyebrows at the announcement that Sakura was a duelist. "Huh, I guess it is. I think a blind duelist would be the perfect candidate for a fortune of discarded expectations. I'm pleased to meet her." The bemused smile might be heard, somewhat, in her words.

“And I you, Kuni-san. If you wish to watch me spar, I am certain there will be the opportunity during this Miai.”

There's a challenge there, in response to the bemusement. See how Sakura can defy expectations.
