(D2, ME) Erratic Love (Play)

[Kitsu Murato]

Blinking for a moment, Aimi wracks her memory... oh, yes, Kitsu Murato, from the garden. Answering his smile with one of her own, the ronin makes her way over.

"A fine evening, Kitsu-sama," she says politely, gesturing at the nearest seat, "Do you mind if I join you?"

"Please," he said, rising to bow before waiting to sit at the same time as her. "I am glad to see you again Aimi-san. How have your first days here been? Pleasant I hope."

[Nekoma Jae]

Nesshin notes the catlike entrance of the Nekoma and rises with a short bow. He gestures to a seat next to him, offering it to her with a smile.

Jae gives a bow in return, offering a small smile in return as she takes a seat beside him in preparation for the play. She takes her hat off carefully, resting it down in her lap. It had done it's job to protect her from the drizzle and occasionally more intense sprinkles that began again in the afternoon but she worried about disrupting other's view.

"Good evening, Shika-san, I'm Nekoma Jae. Did you have an opportunity to see the play yesterday?"

[Shika Nesshin]

Jae gives a bow in return, offering a small smile in return as she takes a seat beside him in preparation for the play. She takes her hat off carefully, resting it down in her lap. It had done it's job to protect her from the drizzle and occasionally more intense sprinkles that began again in the afternoon but she worried about disrupting other's view.

"Good evening, Shika-san, I'm Nekoma Jae. Did you have an opportunity to see the play yesterday?"

"Shika Nesshin," he replies, and "I didn't, as it happened. One does occasionally have to put in training time, after all, and it was a quiet evening at the dojo. I take it you did, though; what did you think of our theater?"

He seats himself beside her. For now, as people filter in, there's room to spread out a little. That may well change, though.

"Shika Nesshin," he replies, and "I didn't, as it happened. One does occasionally have to put in training time, after all, and it was a quiet evening at the dojo. I take it you did, though; what did you think of our theater?"

He seats himself beside her. For now, as people filter in, there's room to spread out a little. That may well change, though.

"Oh, I haven't had the opportunity to see the dojo yet. I might visit one of these evenings when it's quiet. I don't want to get in the way of training." Jae responds. "I actually missed the show yesterday, I had spent most of the day traveling and was feeling particularly tired. I'm sure my family at home would be disappointed that I missed my chance to see a play, even if there'll be plenty more to see during our time here."

[Shika Nesshin]

"Oh, I haven't had the opportunity to see the dojo yet. I might visit one of these evenings when it's quiet. I don't want to get in the way of training." Jae responds. "I actually missed the show yesterday, I had spent most of the day traveling and was feeling particularly tired. I'm sure my family at home would be disappointed that I missed my chance to see a play, even if there'll be plenty more to see during our time here."

"Right," Nesshin says, nodding. "The troupes! I'd heard about them, though I've not seen any of your Clan's work that I recall. I think some performed here once while I was out in the forests."

He huffs a breath out through his nose. "What would you recommend I see, if I get the chance to choose?"

[Aimi]

"Please," he said, rising to bow before waiting to sit at the same time as her. "I am glad to see you again Aimi-san. How have your first days here been? Pleasant I hope."

"With the thankfully rare exception, yes," Aimi says with a little bob of her head, settling herself down on the cushion next to Murato. She looks every inch the proper courtly lady here, a strange contrast with her rough exterior back when they first met. "Shika Pei Pei-sama is a very incisive woman, and being asked about one's glorious and accomplished ancestors is... somewhat less enjoyable for ronin, as you might imagine."

She shakes her head with a slightly strained smile. "Ah, but I should not complain. The nakodo would not be doing her job, if she did not take such things into account."

"With the thankfully rare exception, yes," Aimi says with a little bob of her head, settling herself down on the cushion next to Murato. The transformation is somehow simultaneously pleasant and disappointing. She looked lovely, of course, but he did appreciate someone that looked like they worked for a living. Mostly because he dislikes that he doesn't.

"Yes, I can see how that might be uncomfortable. But when you have records showing your line all the way back to the dawn of the empire, it becomes clear that the interview was not really about that. It was a test that had less to do with lineage than it suggested."

"Mm. Well, Shika-sama didn't have me thrown out on my ear for talking about that peasant merchant who taught me the value of coin, so perhaps it is so," Aimi muses thoughtfully. "Hardly an ancestor, but he shaped me even so."

She glances sideways at Murato, eyes briefly flickering over the most minute of details in his expression, before raising her eyebrows. "You know, Kitsu-sama, you may be the first man who didn't drop his jaw and his dignity at the sight of me all wrapped up nice. Delicate beauties not to your liking, then?"

"They are to my liking as much as any other woman is. A pleasant appearance is worth appreciating, but substance is more attractive. Plenty of delicate beauties in this world are also very capable," he says, then grins, "...like myself."

"But I would rather get to know you instead of gaping like a boor. I can't very well have a conversation if I leave my jaw hanging open and unused."

"They are to my liking as much as any other woman is. A pleasant appearance is worth appreciating, but substance is more attractive. Plenty of delicate beauties in this world are also very capable," he says, then grins, "...like myself."

"Mm, excellent composure, not a hint of stammering," Aimi notes with a sly smile, "Though are you quite certain about the claim of capability? Why, last time we met you told me you would struggle to lift anything more than a single piece of paper. Perhaps you might like to go and lie down, rather than exerting yourself with the play?"
