Question: Besides my character sheet what is my private forum for? Hikimasu told me some stuff and said there was something I should set up but I can't remember what that was.

Edit: I have a few questions and I'm wondering if it is better to ask them there or hear in PMs to you.

Question on appropriate roll to find a clearing with rocky soil in the forest here

https://kyudenshika.fallenash.com/viewt ... 5088#p5087

Also taking the chance to ask something else - I'm assuming something like this needs GM input. If you'd rather we just handwave situations like this to keep things more manageable, please let me know! Trying to find the right balance here ;)

You can handwave stuff that's reasonable.

Another question for when I get into a sparring thread. Hoping to get into some to get used to the system and play around with it a bit.

I've seen you suggested using Skirmish instead of Duelling rules - I'm guessing that's because of how deadly Finishing Blows are?

And also on that - do we use normal damage rules for sparring? That sounds slightly dangerous, but... fair, I guess! Maybe! :D

I'm only suggesting skirmish rules rather than duel, because dueling tends to load you up on strife pretty fast. You can totally practice dueling. Finishing Blows are nasty, which is why I recommended bokken, since doubling them doesn't leave you with lasting injuries, and since it's not razor edged, doesn't inflict bleeding.

Normal damage rules, but fortunately, if you exceed someone's endurance, they just are knocked out, rather than possibly, y'know, dead in 4e. They'll stand back up in the next time slot at 50%

Speaking of opportunities - is this fitting/acceptable? And any particular suggestions on useful or interesting things he might remember? :)

Slowly trying to learn the system...

so - how exactly do meditation and tea ceremonies for Strife recovery work? Or, well, how will they work here, if at all?

Ditto with Ninjo-related activities for strife recovery - any rules or ideas on how it will apply? Same as using Passion, maybe, just narratively different?

Thanks!

If I would ask my corvid friend to search for something, like a rock formation or to open a latch on a window, I assume I would roll water+survival, but what would they then roll to suceed?

A lot of this is covered in the Recovery Thread

Assuming you've been sleeping 3 consecutive time slots a day, if at the start of a timeslot you are over 50% on either fatigue or strife, you reset to 50%.

You can pursue your passion in any non-event/non-agenda pushing/non-sleeping thread. No roll required to recover 3 slrife. This can be done multple times per day. You can leave time slots empty for this, or thrown in at the end of a thread to indicate that's what you're off to do.

Tea Ceremony requires you to know tie ritual for it and it has it's own rules.

Meditation, uness a specific shuji works with that, doesn't recover for you.
