[D0, LA] Late Afternoon is for Tea (Open)

[Shosuro Hikimasu]

"I suppose so", Hikimasu allowed. "I imagine one day, unless I marry out of my clan, I'll take over the family estate, if I'm not killed in battle. It's not a bad future if i get there."

[Seppun Unsei]

"You'll get there! Don't even think about dying, Shosuro-san. You're too pretty to die. Also I'm certain that you're a pretty good warrior, so you've got that, too."

[Shosuro Hikimasu]

"Well, other than falling off Kuni towers and telling fortunes what else does Seppun-sama do?" He asked instead of addressing compliments he can't understand.

[Seppun Unsei]

"Uh. That's about it really. But don't change the subject! Which was you. You were the subject. Sort of."

[Shosuro Hikimasu]

"I'm only half the issue here", he said, waving a hand. "So then, I mean no disrespect, but shouldn't you have a betrothed already? I thought kuge arranged things far ahead of time."

[Seppun Unsei]

Unsei made a noise similar to what a balloon deflating would sound like if Rokugan had balloons.

"That. Yeah. I wanted to be matched by an Otomo matchmaker. You know. The proper and original ones, but none of them wanted to deal with me because they said I was a headache and my birth chart lined up with nothing but bad."

[Shosuro Hikimasu]

Is that really something you want to be telling a Scorpion straight out? Am i not wearing black and red? Do people just not take me seriously?

He supposed that was good, considering.

"But...I see...well", he finished his cup of tea. It was a bit cold. "You know maybe...I mean they really said that? Wouldn't someone...get killed for that?"

[Seppun Unsei]

Unsei didn't really care to try and hide obvious facts.

"Well, they said it in a much more polite manner than what I've exaggerated, but that was about the gist of it though. But, I do understand. I had to be cursed, otherwise my good looks and charm would woo too many people and that couldn't be allowed to happen."

[Shosuro Hikimasu]

I see.

"I see."

Time passed, Hikimasu looked on dully for a bit longer. He refiled his own tea, then.

"And so here you are, in Shika lands, trying to find someone to marry. What are you looking for? Simply to be wed so your family is satisfied, or do you have a long and impossible list of demands?"

[Seppun Unsei]

"Surprisingly no. I don't have a long list of impossible wants and needs for whatever spouse I get stuck with. It's just one and it's the same one that most generally want. To just not be hated and even for there to be some general caring going on with my spouse. To make it even more impossible, add a bit of slowly developing feelings so we can actually become friends or something. Just not being absolutely hated by someone I'm stuck with until one of us dies." They shrugged. "And you?"
