[D9, LA, Expecting] Nap Time

"You have no need to hide names here, Asahina-san. All it's going to do is make my curiosity unbearable and that will affect the reading." They chuckled some and shifted off of the mound of pillows, duckling in hand. "Besides, I'm not one for spreading rumors anyway, so who is the one after your heart and the other one courting her?" They asked curiously before setting the duckling down. The little thing then proceeded to waddle on top of some pillows and go back to sleep.

"Do you want to do the gift giving ritual with the mochi? I'm assuming not since it's being shared, but I better ask before I insult you by not doing it."

[Asahina Soyokaze]

Soyokaze wondered how he had missed the duck until now. "wha--no please the formalities aren't needed, enjoy." He thought for a moment before he continued. "My rival, so to speak, is Kitsu Murato the bard and our mutual interest is Kaito Oubaihime, she has...ensorcelled my heart."

[Seppun Unsei]

Unsei arched a brow. "The shrine maiden with an ego rivalling my own?" They paused, trying to take that all in. "I must be honest, I'm surprised that someone as meek as you would want to go for someone who thinks so highly of themselves so as to name themself fucking princess." With the way they spat out the last two words, it was clear that they did not, in any sense, hold anyone who named themselves hime in high regard.

They paused, clearing their throat. "Sorry. That was a rude outburst and I apologize."

[Asahina Soyokaze]

Soyokaze was clearly shocked by the Seppun's words. The thought that anyone could dislike her had clearly never crossed his mind. "None taken, you are entirely entitled to your opinion and I do not believe you mean her any actual harm so we are fine." he said honestly.

After a pause "But all I see is a gentle, caring soul who wishes only to heal the world."

"And that's fine that you see her that way. I'm glad that you do, but in my opinion, as having met way, way too many people calling themselves princess, they have an ego that is larger than Otosan Uchi. Full stop. No continuing. An ego larger than the capital of Rokugan. Regardless of how they act. They purposefully named themselves princess. Like, you don't see random guys naming themselves prince. It's always these random ass girls thinking that they're cute and quirky." It seemed that they would rant about this for the rest of the afternoon, but they shook their head and tried to swiftly brush past it.

"Anyway. You wanted a reading right? Any specific issue? Have a problem you're trying to work out and need options or just the full deal?"

[Asahina Soyokaze]

"I had never really considered her name. I guess I just assumed she kept her given name since Winter Jasmine Princess sounds like something a father would name her and she speaks very fondly of her father. I only took the name Gentle Wind because one of my brother called me it once and I liked the sound of it even if it is a bit egotistical."

He took a bite of a mochi.

"As far as a specific issue I don't know where to start. My constant failures during these damned Shika tests. My chances with Bai. Why the Lion are all being so damned nice to me. My anxiety in trying to find others I could be happy with here and how that feels like a betrayal even if it is a logical thing to do." He seemed like he could go on forever but he stopped and finished his mochi.

"Winter Jasmine Princess is the exact thing egotistical people name themselves. Take it from someone who named themself fortune, like good fortune, or luck depending on how you phrase it. I just had the etiquette to not take it fifty steps further and call myself princess while I'm at it." They headed over to the table and grabbed their dice.

"So. We could try to go through all of those one at a time.... if you really, really wanted. But, most of those also just sound like questions you need to talk to someone with rather than get a reading from the stars. So. If you wanted, rather than asking the stars questions for stuff like that, we could just talk it out. Like... if you're so nervous and anxiety ridden over finding others to also be happy with, and in general as you try to win these stupid games, you're likely just freaking yourself out and stressing, so when you finally do the event, your anxiety makes you slip up. You panic. Then you go back to cursing yourself, getting more filled with anxiety, and the cycle continues."

[Asahina Soyokaze]

"Anxiety is my oldest friend, we share everything with each other." he sighed. "I'm not sure telling you my life story would help either one of us so i will spare you that trouble, I've already inflicted it upon Koi-san and Moshumaru-san. I guess my biggest problems right now are justifying engaging with other potential spouses here and how to prepare for the disappointment that awaits me at the end of this event."

"Many people here are casting their net far and wide, Asahina-san. While it is noble of you to focus on only one other candidate, there is a large possibility that it won't end well. Truthfully, it's a boat both you and I are in together, as I too also have my eyes on only one other here. We both told each other we would be only friends with some extra benefits, but... I think that we've been remaining loyal to each other.

"However... if the one you have your heart on is also courting another person at the same time... I would highly suggest finding someone else. There's no shame in it either. After all, you've made no vows to each other and, not to mention, in the end it could just cause unbearable heartbreak anyway if the matchmakers set you up with someone else.

"With that strife, being torn from the one you thought you'd be with forever, it could leave you resenting a spouse that is in a similar situation and leads to a bitter betrothal all around."
