The Shosuro was good - better than him, most likely. He had found his weakness and slipped through it easily enough, landing a solid blow through his guard. The Kitsu tried to punish the escape attempt with a slash of his own, but his speed was found wanting.

Instead, using the distance granted by their escape, the Kitsu relaxed.

Moshu retreated but spears have excellent reach. With a hop and a hard strike that gripped the bottom of the spear for maximum distance and power, Hikimasu once again.passed the Kitsu's guard landing a blow directly in his chest.

The Kitsu threw up a block to the spear - but in so doing, left himself in prime position to lose his head, if this was a true fight. Accepting his defeat, he bowed to his opponent with respect.

"It appears I am outdone - excellent fighting, Shosuro-san. It appears I have lots to learn."

Hikimasu bowed. "I would say you did alright, the Scorpion style can apply pressure without being needlessly aggressive, and I train with spears often."

[Kitsu Moshumaru]

The Kitsu nodded.

"I admit, my martial prowess needs work - I am grateful to learn more about the Scorpion style here, rather than when my life would be at stake. Your praise is inspiring, Shosuro-san."

[Shosuro Hikimasu]

"Well learn all you like", he said politely. "In the dojo the Scorpion are happy to share their secrets."

[Kitsu Moshumaru]

The Kitsu nodded.

"Thank you - hopefully our duels go well enough tomorrow that we can do this again sometime."

[Shosuro Hikimasu]

He snorted.

"If it's a bracketed trounament, worry about Kakita Reina-san, not any of the Scorpion."

[Kitsu Moshumaru]

"I'm not worried about my opponents, Shosuro-san; I'm more worried about myself. Still, if the fortunes allow, the Crane will find more than a few accidents."

[Shosuro Hikimasu]

That's a load of bad karma waiting to happen.
