a very satisfied noise escaped the Otter's throat as she kissed it and a slow smile stretch across his features "Well if I had known prayer could be this fun I may have tried to become a priest myself." he says with a joking tone as his hand began to run slowly through her hair.

He listened to her describe and his tone was thoughtful as his hand continued to run through the long strands "I may need your help in teaching me things if I am to meet your parents one day. I never focused much on religion, don't know too much about it outside of the things most people know. Can name the big fortunes and stuff and the Kami obviously but" he pauses a little bit of self conscious energy "I don't want to look like a fool if I'm lucky enough to meet them>

She rests her head on his shoulder, with a grin. "Hmm, no need to be a priest to pray, you know?" It was soothing, feeling his hand run through her hair, a bit like having someone help brush it, but intimate and enticing in a very different way.

"I'm happy to help, of course. But they won't expect you to be expert on that. The Hida certainly aren't in general. That's our job and they rely on us for it." Her hand comes up to run through his hair, delighting in the texture and spring of the Otter's curls. "Hmm, we give them the tools to be safe and handling the spiritual forces the Crab deal with is all on us. You'd do fine, love."

It was hard to feel anything but positive feelings with Yasu around and his eyes slowly shut as he enjoyed her hand going through his own hair, continual happy noises emitting from him almost like the purr of a cat. He lost track of his thoughts for a moment and simply enjoyed this moment, the woman he loves in his arms, feeling of her against him, hands running through hair. It was hard to say how long they laid like that it would be hard to believe it was hours, but when he finally broke his reverie it both felt like ages and depressingly short.

It took him a moment to gather his thoughts again "I just....want them, to like me." he said slowly "and its a big part of your life I know little about." he looked down to her a lazy smile on his lips but a strong warmth in his eyes "So i want to know more."

With a small, happy hum of her own, Yasu's head tucks against the edge of his jaw, where she feel those small sounds as much as hear them. This was a memory to hold against the darkness

Looking up at him as he speaks again, she grins wide. "Has anyone you're not tossing into a river not liked you when you met them? Hard to believe. More likely your parents are going to find me off-putting than the reverse." But there's a warm appreciation in her eyes as she asks, "well...for a start, did you recognize the fortunes I offered devotions to here?"

He grins "I appreciate the vote of confidence but yes in fact, some people have described me as loud, obnoxious, and boorish. I'm not a hundred percent sure what that last one means but it didn't sound like a compliment when they said it." A soft chuckle filling the space.

At her question he looked up to the ceiling, needing to not look at her so he could focus on something other than her "um well obviously I know Benten, that's one of the big ones. Musubi I learned about at the temple here and had heard a few times before, kisshoten I'm drawing a bit of a blank on. They are kind of like benten right? But different?"

"Boorish? Sounds like a Crane talking," she says with an obviously dismissive tone. "Loud...ok, that's more useful than not, though. Certainly won't phase my family. You're thoughtful, and..." and they aren't going to miss that you look at me as if nothing else in the world matters She smiles, with a rather similar expression. "You're kind, which matters."

Resting comfortably against him, she nods. "Some clans kind of combine the two or push Kisshoten's aspects onto another fortune associated with family. I was taught that she was the Fortune of fertility...specifically children, not of the fields the way Inari is...and thus happiness. Maybe more important to the Crab.

Tanabe thought for a moment "Yeah maybe it was, or maybe it was a Scorpion? I don't remember the night very well." he says with a soft chuckle as he looked down to her with that exact look she was thinking about as if the four walls of this room and her in his arms were the only real things there.

As she explains he nods along a little bit his hands playing across her back "Makes sense, kind of, i guess." he says a little uncertainly "I understand well enough." his smile becomes very mischievous and his tone was a little teasing with a twinkle in his eye "So you're praying to the fortune of fertility with me eh?"

Her smile is more warm than mischievous, there's no teasing in this case. "Yes, I guess I am. We are. Or were. That's always an act that falls under her worship, and," she shifts, turns, parting the hair above and behind her left ear where a birthmark looks like two squares placed atop one another at an angle to form an eight-pointed kind of star was painting in black-purple ink. "I was born marked with her jewel."

There's a moment of something more serious in her eyes as she turns back, quickly replaced by that warmth, reflecting the sun that she found in him. "Feeling pious?"

he looks at the mark as she reveals it to him and his finger comes up and traces the shape of the mark "So I was right in thinking you were heaven sent." he said softly the tease leaking from his own tone.

he noticed the the sound in her voice and the look in her eyes when she asked her question his big hands found her hips and easily lifted her on top of him his own tone warm and his eyes serious and loving "Let's make this room a temple."

Her small gasp of surprise as he lifted her is quickly replaced by laughter, whose warmth matches that rising through her chest and cheeks. Bending, her hands slide along his chest, skim his shoulders, and slip up to tangle in his hair as she leans down to kiss him. The dark veil of her hair falls to surround them, as she loses herself to the moment. No words are necessary for such ancient rites.
