[Matsu Ishioka]

The big Lion, whose eyes had gone a little bit wide at the suggestion, tried very quickly to clarify.

"Seppun-sama," he hissed, trying to sound urgent but not loud in a common room. "I'm not trying to replace anyone! Just... help a little. For people who need it. Who deserve it," he stresses. "I'm sure I'll be fine, but some others... Some participants just need a little help," he says quietly, eyes going a tiny bit distant as he thinks of certain acquaintances he'd like to help.

"Is that not exactly the same thing as I said? You just phrased it differently, but either way it's basically taking over their jobs, so I dont see why you're getting so freaked out about it." She shook her head and leaned away.

"If you weren't going to come out and say it, I was. There's nothing wrong with that though. It'll be okay, Matsu-san." If it would've been socially acceptable, she would've pat him on the shoulder, but it wasn't.

The Matsu's brows knit for a moment. "Wait, Seppun-sama. Are you saying... Are you saying we could adjust things that much?" The Lion clearly had not grasped what the imperial was actually capable of doing. "We couldn't! The Deer nakodo are experts. They have well-tested methods. We couldn't... They would know... They would," he nodded to himself comfortingly.

"Well, I don't know about changing it that much with magic. We could always ask the stars and see what they think of a match, but... It's not really difficult to ask A what flowers they like, then send them some with a letter 'signed' by B. Or instead of flowers, could be anything. Just sending small gifts and such, or if there's been an argument between them, we could come in, figure out the issue, and try to help them, since usually it's just a minor communication issue or something that was interrupted wrong."

She shrugged. "Doesn't always have to be done just with magic, and we'd still be able to change quite a bit."

The Lion listens thoughtfully, and he brightens noticeably at the idea of sending people gifts. This. This is a thing I understand.

"So, asking the stars would help tell us whether a particular match is worth helping. If it maybe isn't so great..." Ishioka seems to be processing this through his mind as he speaks. "And help us identify a good match that, maybe just needs a nudge to help it happen." His eyes flick to Unsei. "What do you need, including time, to consult the stars on a particular match, Seppun-sama?" The Lion sounds like someone with a project in mind.

"Uhh... probably a few personal details about them. Some mochi and sake. Uhhh... I'm always interested in getting more dice, so that could be nice. And yeah, time." She said with a nod. "But, as I have said, the stars and fates do sort of change. What might be a good match one day due to certain events could be turned into a terrible match because of some other event. We'll be doing a lot of manipulating so... the stars should be more of a guideline rather than a complete yes or no for potential matches."
