[Kuni Yasu]

No better time than when there's something sweet easily to hand, Yasu thinks as she pushes over the small cup with an apologetic smile. "Willow for the aches. Warning, it tastes awful."

She picks up one of the sweets herself, greatly looking forward to it. "I'm sure they both will, honestly. Striking to look at, skilled. I'm not sure either of them are the ones to run the house finances, but that's what a good karo is for."

[Usogawa Narumi]

"Thank you," she nodded lightly, gingerly to Yasu, and lifted the cup to her lips - and tried her very best to keep her face neutral, but, given the hell she'd just been through at the event, that was an impossible feat and the Otter's face contorted when she swallowed. She put a hand up to cover her mouth and couldn't help laughing loudly. "Oh that is horrible!"
Checking to make sure she hadn't spilled any on herself (she hadn't), she steels before going in for another sip.
"So Tanabe-san... It's growing serious then? He is who your heart's chosen?" she asks gently, eyebrows raising in amused query. She honestly did like the other Otter a lot- and moreover, she was growing to cherish Yasu's friendship tremendously.

[Kuni Yasu]

Yasu's expression is entirely sympathetic. "It's really one of the worst for bitterness. I drink it as fast as I can and grab something sweet. Pity it's the best we have for pain if you want to keep your wits about you." Opium, for example, worked really well and could be quite pleasant. "If you like, I'll mix you some 8 treasures for something that tastes better and builds your earth a bit. Can take it with you."

As for the other question."It's only been a few days, I shouldn't think I can make that kind of decision so quickly." But her smile is fond and her eyes focus a bit elsewhere for a moment before returning to the Otter in front of her. "If a few days were all we had and then they're sending us home with our new spouses though? I wouldn't hesitate."

"Would you leave with your giant too?" she teases. "Or are you still weighing all the choices?"

[Usogawa Narumi]

Yasu's confession about Tanabe raises her spirits tremendously- and she would look at the Otter in a different light.
To the Crab's question though.... Narumi is thoughtful. Sore and aching, she rubs the back of her neck again.
"I... don't know? I think I'd be more than happy with him. But I don't admit to know what he'd think of that. And as for looking at others... I've not had the opportunity to do so before, and there's such variety here. I confess I'm still figuring out what it is I ultimately want?" Her words are carefully considered, spoken slow and with her heart behind them.

[Kuni Yasu]

"It's a little easier for me, I suppose. The Crab's duty makes some matches ones I shouldn't look too close at. Don't want to get attached to someone horrified by the idea of being part of that. It really thins things out a bit since I do know I want to remain."

Her smile is sympathetic. "There's some time, for sure. And space here. What are you starting to think you want?"

[Usogawa Narumi]

"No matter where you end up, you'll take your duty with you, neh?" she sniffed and finished the bitter tea and made another face.
"A traveller. That much I know. I can't- I'm not meant to stay in one place long. It isn't in my nature, and if I were to be matched with a bureaucrat or someone who woke up in the same place every morning and was satisfied with that?" she did not finished the sentence, but shook her head just a bit.
"As for what else? It's hard to put into words when it changes with every conversation I have, every new samurai I meet," Narumi admitted with a self depreciating and small laugh.

[Kuni Yasu]

"Maybe they're only satisfied because they haven't really traveled?" There's less awful tea to have after, and Yasu's opinion that finding something worth having in everyone you talk to sounds pretty idea for a matchmaker. A few other opinions and medical notes round out the afternoon in relaxing chatter.
