[Kaikoga Koi]

Koi stepped into the Dojo ring looking calm, there was only light make up to only be ruined by the duel ahead. She wore only simple clothing for the duel, as she was not about to have the fine silks of her kimono destroyed by stray fire balls. She would look at her partner, Aimi, with a look of kindness before bowing towards her respectfully.

I don't want to do this... She thought, her stomach filled with thousands of Moths rippling in her stomach.

She closed her eyes and began to focus.

[Aimi]

Aimi, by contrast, looks almost distressingly eager and enthusiastic as she steps into the ring. Her rough and practical garments have been stripped down and cut back to the minimum allowed by propriety, that she might be as flexible and nimble as required, and her grin is an easy thing of confidence and drive. Win or lose, she's never once found invoking the kami to be anything less than a pleasure.

She grins provocatively at Koi. The Moth is her friend, sure, but she's also been easy to rattle, and Aimi isn't above unbalancing her foe by using what she knows of how they will react.

Koi felt her stomach tighten at the look upon Aimi's face as she readied for this bout, but that only settled Koi's resolve. Her jaw locked, and her mind cleared. Koi had nearly died only a few days ago, her blade struck true upon the flesh of a Sakkuku spirit and sunk home. She had not killed it but she had shown courage in that moment and she was not going to back down from anyone - not even Aimi.

The Moth allowed that tension to wash off her back as the sound of rain drops lightly patter outside.

Koi reached down to the wet ground outside the wards, and pushed out her arms as she called out to the Water. She had never wielding the kami before in a way for battle, she had only ever called upon them for divination for foresight but today she would change that. She would not yield in this place, not to these people and not to anyone that stood in her way.

She felt her body go cold as she called out to the kami, her jade eyes flooding with hues of soft mint as they become charged by the Kami as she called to them. Bending lower, the Moth clapped her hands together wet from the air around her and the rain from outside which she had soaked them in upon entering the dojo in preparation.

Strike upon the storm,
Water rushes to my aid,
Bending and weaving through my enemies.
I call to you!

Koi spread her hands out and the water extended pulled from afar as water stretched, rotated, condensed as water pooled into her outstretched hands as Koi advanced pushing off her foot to move forward closing the distances.

Koi rolled the Bo of Water into her hand, feeling the cool liquid turn and flow around and around. As she got half way to Aimi, she felt the Water breath out to her whispering her to strike with a flick Koi spun the Bo staff in her hand. She let out a bellowing roar, allowing the flooding water to condense to Ice before she thrusted the Bo from low on the matt upwards thrusting at Aimi's guard the water stretching and surging extending further than she had expected condensed to deliver a blow to Aimi's chest.

Aimi's eyes widen as her friend lunges towards her with a roar, and she only just about gets her arm in the way, staggering sideways beneath the strength of the hit.

Oh, I'll be feeling that one tomorrow. Not bad, Koi!

"OSANO-WO!" She roars, reaching up towards the roof, and it should be pointless, the open sky is hidden from view and behind any number of clouds... and yet when the ronin turns and draws her hand towards the earth, fire and lightning come with her, conjured from seemingly nothing to wash across the floor of the dojo in a burning halo.

Fire meets water and turns to steam, filling the dojo around the two shugenja with billowing clouds just barely held back by the sacred wards laid down for the safety of the participants.

Koi looked at Aimi in pride of her strike before her eyes widen, and widen, and a scream from her that is lost as the roar of fire slams down on her.

Koi remembers before hurled perhaps 20 feet back, and scolding steam burning her but the bo staff she head prevented the worst of burns as her body ragdolls slams into the dojo matt rolling and rolling.

The Moth entered Yume-do as darkness filled her vision.

As the steam cleared Koi laid unconscious on the floor of the dojo unable to continue.
