Nesshin answers in a call-and-response fashion, his voice rising up to echo and expand upon Murato's words, the lover pleading with the beloved who wants to reject advances.

Strangely, unexpectedly, his voice rings out strongly, powerfully, a rich baritone that few would have suspected of him. Though the strain of it tells on him soon, it is a rich and rolling thing, moving mightily out.

Murato was exceptionally impressed with his partner's performance as he continued the song alongside him. His initial concerns of never having performed alongside the Shika proved entirely unfounded. The pair of them matched as harmoniously as he ever had with any performing partner.
