Kyuden Shika

Yuzu is already inside his private warm bath tub above the main bathing area. The servants already know the drill and empty the whole area just for him. They know better than to stand in the middle of what samurai of high rank has to talk about.

Shiba Raizo, on the other hand, knew nothing of the sort.

He just knew that taking a bath was usually a good idea, and that he had the time.

He cocked his head a bit at the Governor's private tub, but decided that upending it and its occupant into the communal pool wouldn't be quite funny enough to justify the trouble, so he settled for a fairly casual bow and he stepped into the main bath.

Yuzu turns his head to the Phoenix and provides a nod from the bathtub, since a bow wouldn't work. "Good day, Shiba-san. I hope Inari-kami has been kind."

"Very much so, Seppun-sama. I trust you have likewise had rice today? And otherwise, that things go as they should?"

"Inari-kami has been kind, hai. The other Fortunes aren't smiling as much to me as of lately." He says with a cold tone of voice as his eyes get dragged up to the skies.

"Ah, well. Don't worry too much about that."

Raizo did his best impression of the Togashi monk whose line he was about to steal.

"'Don't be trapped by the need to achieve anything. This way you achieve everything.' Easier said than done, I know, but..."

"... you achieve everything..." He repeats the Phoenix words that mumble in his lips as the day suddenly starts to go dark.

Yuzu raises from the bath tub as if attracted to the very sun being consumed and walks out of it. Then, naked, he starts to walk at the rim of the main bathing area to get the best view of the spectacle going in in the skies.

His head held up. Transe-like.

Raizo glanced up at the eclipse... and stifled a grimace.

I can just see the Isawa scuttling around prognosticating about this one.

"Well. That's odd."

"Ack!" The boy complains as the last ray of light hurts his eyes and he needs to cover it. Then...

... full darkness.

"Helps not to look right at these things."
