He clucked his tongue. He had gone to Seido Osano Wo once, those monks he could deal with. They called him weak more openly and punched him when he flapped his gums.

Suffice to say he didn't really get the Kaito, though he did know she wasn't trying to annoy him. He decided to move on, philosophy never ended well.

"Hai..." She smiled. "It is my first time in Kyuden Shika as well.I am rather interested in seeing how life is this far south."

"I didn't know shrine maidens got married", he considered. "Or...you said Kaito, so you're people are samurai? I'm not familiar with families so far away, I'm afraid."

"We are samurai and do our lord's bidding. We are priestess but not shugenja... more as a monk. Part of our duties is to keep temples and shines." She smiled and bowed. "I am free to have a partner and give my clan what is needed of me."

"You say required of you, not particularly happy to seek marriage?"

"Are you?" She giggled. "I am quite at odds if you know what I mean. I have a duty to the temple and there is the duty to the clan." She looked at the cherry tree and smile. "But if it is the will of the fortunes for me to be wed. I hope it is a person who understands this one."

Well, that let's me off the hook at least.

He seemed to relax somewhat. "Fortunes, duty, willing, it all seems a bit", he thought about it. He could say what was on his mind, but he didn't want to. "...unmotivated.." He shrugged. "Though were just at the start. You might find someone who can share the burden with a bit of fun."

"I do look forward to meeting people that are not injured or about to die." She giggled. "Normal humans like you I guess."

Oh yes, I'm quite normal, did I tell you about the time I normally walked into a normal room and everyone kept their normal distance and normally averted their eyes from mine?

"Oh yes, normal. All my bits and pieces are still exactly where the fortunes put them, of course I wouldn't hold you in contempt if you doubted and had to check."
