A soft squeak exited the young attendants lips and she hastily left out the back granting them privacy though Soyokaze seemed not to notice or care as all his attention was on the Phoenix. "I...I...I cannot Bai-san." The words caused him terrible pain to say, as did what came next. Slowly, painfully, he removed the white gloves he wore. His hands were in a terrible state, so swollen and purple they resembled misshapen plums and he could barely flex his fingers. "I fear that I would only do harm to you." He wanted to die in that moment his disappointment was so great.

I would try to take a day to let them rest but things are getting busier every day. Shosuro Hikimasu has asked for a piece that I don't think I can make. Moto Mitsuki came by this morning on your recommendation and I expect that as the days go on more will bee looking for gifts. i cannot put less effort in their work than I do with my own; though I do selfishly give my own gifts priority."
