Asahina Soyokaze

Post by Saibankan » Tue Sep 14, 2021 5:36 am

Asahina Soyokaze never went back home. With his future bride lending him her mighty steed he borrowed a pony from the Shika and escorted his young assistant back to the Crane border. There he arranged for her to be escorted to her home by her clan, a letter she carried from Soyokaze would explain things to his father. HER clan, his life as a Crane was done and he was glad to be rid of it for it had only taught him pain. Once his goodbye's to the young Kakita were done he asked the Unicorn steed to take him away, away from everything. He wandered into the deepest woods of the Shika and stopping there just let himself cry again.

He was going to miss this place and this time despite his disappointment with the Deer. He had made friends here, real friends and having to move away from them was hard. He thought about his future bride, she was kind and noble and beautiful, he hoped one day he would grow to love her. More than than any of that he spent the time alone praying.

He prayed for his friends Koi, Unsei and Moshumaru, Hikimasu, Ishioka and for their unions.

He prayed that Raizo and Aimi would find peace and happiness and safety in the trials ahead of them.

He even prayed for Seppun Yuzu, hoping he would find a better path.

He prayed for Bai and Murato and hoping against hope that the rumors of a Unicorn/Phoenix war brewing weren't true.

And he prayed for himself, though he may have a happy and fulfilling life with Mitsuki he knew he was cursed. He made an oath there in the woods with only the steed Avel to stand as witness. He would atone for the sins of his past lives, he would worthy in the next life of the happiness he desired in this one.

Then he simply stopped crying, he still felt sad about things he still had regrets but he didn't need to cry; he had things to look forward to. He would get to travel, explore, learn new arts and raise a family. The idea that a woman like Mitsuki would want to have a family with him was still a bit strange and was one of the only things left giving him anxiety, though it also excited him.

That's when it hit him, he still had a lot of problems to work through and he knew it but the anxiety was going away. He wasn't scared of everything anymore, of everyone. There were people who liked him for who he was even if he made mistakes. There were people who loved him. He didn't know if Mitsuki was one of those people, he didn't know if he was one of those people but they were real and it gave him strength. He mounted Avel again and bid it to return to Mitsuki and he left the Crane behind.
