The Cat are a group of unified artists, acrobats, and actors. Known for impassioned and graceful displays of theatrics and derring do, the Nekoma family were granted Minor Clan status only a few decades after the return of the Unicorn, having adapted some of the foreign styles of theater to Rokugani sensibilities. Their founder was Ide Nekoma, herself a student of both the Kakita and Shosuro styles of acting.

At the time, it was unknown to all that Ide Nekoma had also been a student of a sect of secretive shadow warriors, the Assassins, a tradition passed down through her family during the time the Ki-rin had been away in the Burning Sands.

Through an Otomo Intermediary, this was the true reason they had been granted Minor clan status. A cabal of shadow fighters against dark magic.

The Island they were granted off the Phoenix lands houses many minor shrines and temples, and that spiritualist bent remains today.

The Nekoma Family carries the great burden of fighting a war that only the Kuni and Yogo would find similarities in. During their ancestors time in the Burning Sands, they became entwined fighting off unholy monsters in the shadows, some of which followed the Unicorn back home. These creatures, similar to Oni, the Rakshasa, sought to sow discord and misery wherever they went. And even when their adversary returned to the shadows, their skills could also be plied in the normal politics of Rokugan, which they take payment for, in order to maintain their secret fight against darkness.

Twilight Dancing (School Ability):
Once per scene, when making a Performance Check, you may choose a number of dropped dice equal to your school rank and reserve them. Until the end of the scene, when you make a check using a different skill, you may add one of the reserved dice to the check as a kept die, set to the result it had when it was reserved. This expends that reserved die.

If you succeed, each target is Dazed for a number of rounds equal to your ranks in Performance, plus one round for every 2 additional successes.

3 opportunity spend: Each target must resist with a TN 3 Meditation (void) check, or also suffer the Burning condition for the duration.
