Oubaihime had decided to search for some medicinal herbs around the forest and midmorning seem to be a good time. She noted the singing. To find herbs, 2 sets of eyes are better than 1 set of eyes. The girl approached the Lion. "Excuse me Sama..."

Mitsuki had unmounted and was leading her horse by the bridle through the mini-Shinomen. While the poor creature was indeed nervous surrounded as he was by all these high trees after so many time in the open lands of the west, he was still seasoned enough to have fared well had she stayed on his back. But that gave her an excuse to stop looking down on her de facto escort from her high saddle.

"So Lion-sama, is it your first time in these woods?"

Mitsuki observed the approaching... nun? (she wasn't sure if she was a member of a religious order or just a particularly devout Phoenix) with, for now, silent curiosity.

He cut off his whistling tune, and nodded to the newly arrived Phoenix. "Yes?" he asked, in a friendly tone.

At the question from Mitsuki, he nodded. "Yes. It's much different from any I"m used to back home. Which is to say not many. At best we have an orchard you might call woods."

The priestess bowed at both. "I was wondering about that tune and if you would like to help me find some herbs." She straighten. "But if you are too busy I understand."

"It was a Unicorn song, I picked up a few years back from visitors to my home," he says with a smile. "I've learned a few, so I like to use them to entertain Moto-san during lulls in conversation. We've come much of the way here together."

"As to the herbs, I do not mind, but I don't know if Moto-san is in a hurry to get her companion to stable. I am Kitsu Murato by the way." Murato offers a bow of his own.

"Avel went to the Conqueror's Sea and back, a slightly longer stroll through the woods is nothing to him. Don't worry, when he'll need a break, he'll let us know.

I'm Moto Mitsuki, one of the ten thousand blades of the Khan, here to acquire a spouse. Nice to meet you."

She instinctively raised one open hand, before remembering where she was and bowing instead.

He had personally found the hand shaking thing interesting, and had committed to memory that offering such to any Moto he met would probably be a decent gesture. But it certainly was not for everyone.

"This one is Kaito Oubaihime. It is an honor to meet you both." She bowed as would have enjoyed learning this hand gesture from Shinjo's clan but then again in Rokugan people bow. "I am glad to hear that Lion sama." She smiled.

"So, what are you looking for? I have no idea which plants are growing under that sun but what good are travels for if you don't employ them to learn new things?"
