Murato leaned over and breathed in deeply. "No new scars this time," he says, breathing a bit heavily. "Good and disappointing."

Looking to the Mirumoto that just barged in, "Just exorcising.". He let the confusing use of the word linger while someone with more breath explained fully.

Hajime stepped forward.

"I am Kitsuki Hajime. In the course of consulting the spirits about the inclement weather, Kuni Yasu, Kitsu Murato, and I had a feeling that there was a spiritual entity active here at the inn. As we investigated to determine whether this feeling had a basis, we encountered Kaikoga Koi, Kitsu Tsugumasu, and Shosuro Hikimasu, who informed us that their friend, Utaku Kheree, was under attack from this spiritual force. It seemed that time was of the essence, so we sent word to your office and Lord Shika through the Shika guard that matters were afoot, but were forced to intervene to prevent the spirit from achieving its aims prior to your arrival."

"The spirit has been banished, thanks to this quick but unfortunately necessary intervention."

[[Trying to tick the legal boxes and make this seem all very above board. We were just overtaken by events!]]

Koi laid back from the from the ritual, panting sweat rolling down her neck and just remained quiet. Too thirsty, and tired to talk.

Koi spoke softly, once she had found her voice though it was dry and weary, she bowed her head low respectfully not wanting to anger the Mirumoto at all. "Mirumoto-yoriki I have in previous reports spoke with Lord Shika regarding spiritual events within the city. Though the two situations that I spoke with him, there is president to mention they both involved a painting and Utaku-sama. I believe this is related in some matter to that situation."

"I have a copy of the report I presented to Lord Shika in my room, if you wish for that evidence." She said, bowing respectfully.

Yasu can feel the strain of calling so strongly upon the earth in the leaden weight of her limbs. She knows that half a dozen people reporting wasn't going to make the Shika officials any happier, so she sticks to her own area of expertise. A glance at the other participants showed the sort of weariness she'd expect, but not injury. Something to drink would be wise...after the official types cooled enough for someone to call a servant over to bring water.

Stepping past the wards, she asks Kheree, "You bear jade? Would you mind if I examined it...after all that?"

She nodded And reached into her clothes to present her a finger of it , untouched by darkness and for all to see including the magistrate

He didn't quite know the signs to look for, but he does watch Yasu inspect the jade. She likely saw him watching, trying to learn what she was doing.

She holds the simple piece of stone, looking for dark veins then running a nail along the surface to catch at soft spots that might exist if the stone were degrading. She flips it over to repeat the process, nodding afterward. "If the thing was Tainted, it wasn't strongly so since there's nothing detectable on this." There's a relief to her tone as she hands it back, waiting to see what the folks with spears were going to do at this point.

"And still, let us give some distance", he reminded everyone, a nod to Yasu for her work, however even if he knew the answer already. They'd all been through enough.

While Namika wasn't a particularly kind samurai, Hajime had very neatly covered all the relevant legal points. The priests were going to check everyone over ESPECIALLY Kheree, but while it took awhile, everything checked out.

(All players who participated in the ritual receive a minor honor award for courage. (3 points, doubled if your clan favors courage, halved if your clan doesn't care. Hajime gets a trifling honor award (1 point) for Duty and Senseki gets a trifling award for Compassion.)

While the priests are fussing Koi will remain seated quietly, perhaps a bit downcast after about five minutes she would begin shuffling and reshuffling her tarot card absentmindedly as she waits.

Once completed the Moth would bow and excuse herself back to her room.
