Murato looked to the cat, reaching out with that sense, trying to determine if the cat was the other spirit he had sensed in this place, or if it was maybe the evil he had felt. It seemed to have an uncanny intelligence after all.

"Something evil's in here," he says, speaking directly at the cat.

The cat looked at Murato. Because that's how cat's worked, they looked in the direction of sound.

However, Murato COULD sense something. Not the evil, not the cat itself...but something underneath the table?

Murato got down on the ground and looked beneath the concealing blanket.


"AAAAA!" came a high pitched scream from under the table as a small form attempt to conceal itself within the rear of the blanket.

"MROW!" came from a suddenly very agitated cat that leapt upon Murato!

Murato was suddenly very Disoriented from the unexpected attack!

Murato suffers the Disoriented condition. Murato's Movement and Support actions have their TN increased by 2 until he spends a round not doing those things.

(GM Note: I'm not going to start up full blown skirmish combat for this, but you can certainly benefit from combat stances if you're going to do combaty things.)

Hajime was disconcerted, but moved to help Murato dislodge the cat.

[Kuni Yasu]

As a cat's a bit small for multiple people to grab, Yasu moved instinctively between Murato and the unknown screeching, coming down on one knee and lunging to trap whatever it was within the blanket. She was going to be really annoyed at that instinct if she wound up bitten by a goblin.

Murato closed his eyes and turned a bit, losing his sense of direction for a moment. Fortunately Hajime was helping out and Renjiro was latched onto him, so he didn't have to worry much about how to find his target. He reached to grab the scruff of Renjiro's neck so he could pull the cat off and hold him at arms length. Seeing Yasu looking to get into position to try and catch whatever was in the blanket, Murato flowed into kicking the end of the table up so that it lands on it's side, trapping the creature between the tipped table and Yasu.

"Calm down Renjiro,"

He looked at the others with his dead stare.

Yasu notes the clever assist, large hands scooping the blanket's edges back toward the table before leaning just enough to release the edge and gather the entire blanket, screeching something and all, into a rather large and squirmy furoshiki bundle. Despite the unknown danger, her eyes are alight with curiosity. "Is this what you sensed, Murato-san?" She gives the blanket sack a shake to settle it.
