After neatly tucking it away in their sleeve, they stretched out their arms and wrapped them tightly around Raizo since they knew the bushi could take it.

Raizo hugged the Imperial back with something less than full force, since squashing the sweet-natured little Imperial like a bug would have been counter to his intentions.
It was still a rib-creaker, though.

Unsei didn't really think things through. They didnt realize that squeezing someone would cause them to squeeze back, and so the frail Imperial was left gasping and in minor, temporary pain.
