Murato did indeed grab a broom during the exchange, so he could practice his dance moves as well. If he had heard the explanation clearly he likely would have doubted it, since that would not have caused such resistant embarrassment last night. As it was, he didn't question because he didn't catch it, so assumed she had simply told the Shika.
