Unsei bowed in return and... then didn't slip into a stance. Instead, they watched Hiki closely, trying to see what he would do.

Try as they might, they weren't well trained enough to block the blow with their staff, but they did manage to duck out of the way in time, but they were already huffing and puffing with exertion.

Oh that fucker...

Unlike Hiki, when Unsei returned with a blow, it was aimed at center mass. Also because it was the easiest and biggest target.

The attack was stopped, deflected off the bokken and he caused it to slide down, sending Unsei off balance. He stepped in to catch her foot with his and send her to the ground.

Just as predicted. For once.

Unsei was sent to the ground easily. They were built like a twig, but with less flexibility, and so crashed down onto the mat. It wasn't a particularly loud thud, but for the moment they laid there and tried to catch their breath.

He took a step back to allow Unsei to stand, resting the bokken on his shoulder.

"Again?" he asked, waiting.

"Yup." Was the response from the floor. It took about a minute for the shugenja to catch their breath, but then they stood up and stood in the loose stance-not-a-stance that Void was.

And oddly, Unsei didn't react much at all. They lifted their bo like to block, but went slowly enough that they weren't even close to actually blocking it. They wanted to see just how rough he was actually being, in order to gauge how pissed he was, since those eyes didnt give anything away.
