Rising, Bayushi lowered his bokken and bowed respectfully. "Well, I like you Shiba-san - I would not want any nastiness to befall you. Besides, I was about to be crushed. You certainly haven't been idle while the commanders were out chatting with each other, eh?"

"Walking around with a pack that feels like some joker thought it'd be fun to stuff the Spine of the World in there isn't much fun, Bayushi-san, but it builds a certain... fortitude."

He was still grinning as he moved the practice naginata to rest.

"And I think if we'd had to compete in katana range, you'd have wrapped this up a lot sooner."

Hikimasu thought about that. He didn't think Raizo was the type to be so kind, but perhaps the man was growing out of his chains a bit.

He didn't interrupt them still. However he was finishing his drills by then.

"And we all have... different areas of focus, even when our duties are similar."

He raised his voice with a smile.

"Isn't that right, cavalryman?"

He flipped the spear over his hand and caught it again, finishing his routine.

"More like mounted infantry, though we do some skirmishing from horseback", he confirmed. "Good afternoon."

"You're all cavalry to those of us who walk everywhere."

He was plainly... teasing.

"And you're all mud to us who ride horses", he quipped back. "Though I'll take meeting you half way in the dojo." a bow.
