"So they say, I trust it does", he answered. "Yet with others it only brings worry and strife."

"That might be to those who don't see the water under the bridge that flows." She stood up and smiled knocking an arrow on the target perfectly.

He watched, then let his own arrow fly, hitting palpably as well.

He knew Raizo would protect the girl as much as he could. He wondered how whoever she was to marry would do so. Would they let her be herself and run free to be as she needed?

The Scorpion doubted that. He hadn't formed the kind of attachment to the miko that others had, but he certainly tried to keep her happiness in mind. Though he had enough of his own problems, if he were honest. Was he not seeing the flowing water himself? He wondered.
