(D12, MM) Kitsuki Hajime vs Seppun Yuzu (Event)

by Seppun Yuzu
Once again Yuzu enters the Speardancer Dojo to draw blades. Fortunately, this time was with the bokken. He provides a bow to the kamiza, to the judges and then another to the Kitsuki, saying, "Good morning, Kitsuki-san. I hope Inari-kami has been kind. Please, treat me well."

Hajime's easy stance showed that he was at least familiar with the sword, but the way in which he presented himself suggested that he was more concerned about being approachable and hanging loose than putting any fear into his opponent. He bowed simply and fluidly to the Seppun,

"I intend to, Seppun-sama. And I hope that you will reciprocate."

In the blink of an eye, Yuzu trusts in heavenly speed to honor the Kitsuki and this miai.

Yuzu dashes forward and unsheathes his blade in a rising cut that doesn't really connect to Hajiime, but incites the Dragon to fight.

"Eeeeeeee-ih!" He shouts a kiai.

The previous initiative roll shouldn't have counted strife since Yuzu is in Void.
I would use that opportunity to, instead, lower the TN for Fire in 1, as in: Choose a ring other than Void. Reduce the TN of your next check by 1 if it uses that ring.
I checked with Hajime's player in a PM, and that's ok.

Hajime easily pivots, taking a deep breath to steel himself against the Seppun's fire. He then draws his bokken smoothly, a look of unconcern on his features.

Hajime uses his water stance to take a deep breath. -1 strife.
He then simply draws his bokken and settles into a comfortable, loose stance.

Hajime goes up to 6 strife with Yuzu's shout, but decreases to 5 with calming breath. He has now drawn his bokken.

Yuzu grins now that Hajime's spirit is inflamed and he has a weapon at hand.

A merciless strike follows soon after.

"TTTTOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo!!!"

Oof!

Hajime is hit! That's too bad!

He staggers backwards under the weight of the blow!

Yuzu assumes water stance, then waits for the judges to confirm. After the verdict, he puts the bokken to resting position on his left hand, and bows to the Dragon, "Thank you for the spar. I am honored."

Hajime bows in return.

"And I as well, Seppun-sama. Your technique is excellent."
