[D8 LM Expecting] - Blood Among the Crows

[Kitsu Moshumaru]

Sometime after the event, the Kitsu wondered through town, taking in the sights and the sounds. By the theatre, his attention was drawn by an odd noise.

Caw

He walked over to the bird - it was the same one as this morning!

Caw! Caw!

With a shrug, the Mourner broke off a rice ball and fed it to the bird. Deciding to relax, he sat by the bird for a while, which seemed comfortable enough by him, but it was an odd sight.

As he'd just wrestled a woman with a bird, the Scorpion found it odd to see a man with one just after.

Same one? ... no, not judgy enough.

Well, the Lion was sitting there, he was there, they were both weird people, maybe he could have an interesting conversation. He grumped to himself a bit about how many kitsu there were here who weren't shugenja, he was surprised there wasn't an Ikoma among this lot who had studied among the Isawa.

He bowed after approaching. "Good morning, Kitsu-san", he said. "Sharing Inari's bounty with a new friend?"

The Kitsu stood to bow, the crow seemingly ignorant to Rokugani tradition. It seemed to be having its own conversation with a rooftop friend.

Caw Caw! Caw!

One could imagine it wasn't going very well.

"Good morning, Shosuro-san; This one is familiar, funnily enough. Little thing stole some of my rice this morning. It's strange; Since I spoke to the Asahina, Crows seem to acknowledge me here. I trust Inari has been kinder with yours?"

He watched the crows for just a split second.

"Crows that live among humans too long simply adapt to the people to get what they need", he replied. "I ate inside, it was good and I wasn't bothered."

"I've not seen you in the dojo much", he observed. "Making appearances later in the day?"

The Kitsu thought. His thought was interrupted as the Crow landed on his shoulder, still aggressively conversing with the other.

"Forgive me Shosuro-san, but the last few days have turned into practically a winter court for me. I will try and get in some time tomorrow, though, in preparation for the swordplay event later on."

[Shosuro Hikimasu]

"As you are a bard of the lion, I expect those manner of duties take precedent", the Shosuro said. "Any luck?"

[Kitsu Moshumaru]

"Romantically maybe, but politically yes - I've made great leeway with the Otter and Deer, and have just touched base with the Mantis yesterday, opening up a potential trade deal with them. How about yourself? Do the tides of time turn in your favour?"

[Shosuro Hikimasu]

"Not really", he said. His look was implacable in the extreme.

It was a Scorpion. They could absolutely be lying. But after this morning? He wasn't going to test it.

"That is unfortunate - there are other miais happening here right now - perhaps you can find someone form them if your time with this group proves useless?"

[Shosuro Hikimasu]

"An impressive suggestion, I wish I'd thought of it before I preformed so well among these worthy tasks the Shika gave us", he said without an ounce of feeling. "Think of all the time I could have back by throwing away my efforts."
