Emiko had arrived just before the play came on, so she had to find a place to sit quickly.

Akodo Kenji, having no luck with romance at all, travels to Kyuden Shika in hopes of a happy marriage. After consulting with the matchmakers, he learns that Benten has laid a curse upon him: not only are all his romances doomed to failure, but those he romances will find their perfect romantic partner immediately after their romance with Kenji ends. He also finds romance at Kyuden Shika in the form of Shika Yukiyo. Not wanting to have his romance with her come to the same end, he undertakes a pilgrimage to Benten Seido to try find away to lift his curse.

"I suppose I could have been more cheeky about it", he admitted with a shrug. "Though I think you and I might be beyond such pretenses." He found his eye wandering slightly, not out of boredom as Narumi was someone he would regret walking away from even if he was ordered, but...something pulled his attention toward-

Emiko managed not to frown.

Ah, of course. She planned to be here every day, didn't she?

He looked back toward Narumi, maybe not being quite so mindful of his gaze as he may have been around her usually.
"It seems your own Emiko-sama is here, would you like to invite her over?" he asked. Honestly he wanted to, but he was also very much enjoying the chance to speak with Narumi again.

And it would be Emiko-sama. Narumi was probably not exactly standing in the best place in the other Otter's eyes, giving her behaviour at the tea house the afternoon before.
"Of course!" she replied brightly. "I never miss a chance to see my cousin."

"I didn't think of how the days since may have gone. Forgive my thoughtless request."
