[D7, MM, Event] The Class Clowns (Mitsu and Unsei)

[Seppun Unsei]

Unsei was not prepared for this. Singing. Or playing. Whatever it was, it wasn't for this Seppun who looked like they just rolled out of bed. Unfortunately, they didn't exactly get the option of staying in bed and being able to do well in this Shika game.

So, they took a chance, grabbed a koto, and started strumming it. It wasn't... terrible. Just a few chords repeated over and over again, but it did the job and that's all that mattered. Of course, Unsei started sorta singing while doing it. The lyrics... weren't terrible either. Could be polished more, but they were doing what they could.

[Bayushi Mitsu]

Bayushi stepped up to Seppun and with a theatrical flourish started to sing. He didn't even get half a note out, however, before he was wracked with a coughing fit. There was little the Scorpion could do besides desperately clapping his hands like a beat to cover up each cough, listing side-to-side like a floundering ship. Regaining some control, he quickly grabbed the mallet and sounded the massive gong, turning back to his partner with a gesture to send the attention back their way.

Unsei tried to look away at the horror that was going on, but they couldn't. Yet, they just... kept strumming and doing their best to sing along with that, going off of the gong hit.

The coughing only got worse, to the point where Bayushi started to choke. That effectively stopped him from singing or even trying to play a complementary instrument. Instead he turned his writhing into a clever pantomime of the tune and the lyrics of Seppun's song, acting out every tragic and comedic twist of the tale. Either Bayushi had a natural talent for acting, or his convulsing was just so bad as to override his natural inhibitions. Either way it was an unforgettable performance.

Dear god. He was actually dying on the stage. Unsei got so caught up in watching him flounder that the simple melody they had been playing fell out of tune. This was quickly devolving into

[Bayushi Mitsu]

Somehow, some way, Bayushi got ahold of himself and started dancing around the drums on the stage, pounding out a beat to get them back on track, incorporating his acting as if that was a part of their plan the whole time. With a flourish, he moved them towards a crescendo - if they could just find some way to bring the song to a close!

With Mitsu looking better... somehow... Unsei was also able to focus on their simple melody and returned to it, while also remembering that they were singing a shitty song, so began doing it again, too.

Bayushi lost his place as Seppun joined back in. Faltering, he tried to dance in a much flashier manner, distracting from the musical failure.

At the very least, they were showing off and showing off somewhat proudly... Unsei fucked up on the melody again, caught up in Mitsu's flashy antics again. At least their own was also somewhat flashy as they messed up.

This was becoming legendary ... legendary in a bad way, sure, but legendary nonetheless. Bayushi tripped over an instrument stand, managed to turn it into a roll, and flipped himself up to standing. He spun around like he'd planned it, but he lost all track of the song. Again.
