"Perhaps." he nodded. "I suppose that was the intent of this challenge, to support one another."

"We made a good pairing, I think." Shizuka mused, her tone lightly suggestive. "After a fashion."

"Better than I had hoped for." he smiled. "I owe you a meal, at the least."

Shizuka feigned hurt. "Kitsuki-san, please. I thought we had gotten along well and you'd imagine I would be one to hold such a talented musician to something as base as a debt, as if I was some common merchant?"

Dramatic.

"Perhaps we could simply share a meal then?" he asked. "As friends?"

Shizuka's eyes returned to their languid, half-lidded state. "Well, when you put it that way, how could I refuse such an offer from such a talented new friend?"

"I look forward to it." he said. "Lunch perhaps? Or dinner?"

"As I understand it, a lunch is between friends. Dinner is for...something more." Shizuka paused, glancing across to Edogawa. "Which one would you prefer?"

"You have me curious about dinner, now." he smiled. "I would hate not knowing where that might lead."

Shizuka said nothing at first and merely gave a knowing look.

"Well, tomorrow, then?"
