Tanabe came off the stage with a wide smile his heart full to bursting of emotion. The song had been played well enough and most of that had been carried not by his meager skill as an artist but by his emotion and feeling. It made for a better performance but left his heart open and feeling in a way a samurai was not supposed to. The Otter cared little for such restraint but here he was not just an Otter but a representative so he struggled back the outpouring of emotion to a small pleased look at the performance.
He went with Yasu to a spot to watch the others perform and relax a little.

"My answer had been that it was something I had to think about. It's a question of comfort level for me. If I had never swim before I would not jump from a ship on the ocean."

Nesshin nods. "A sensible course to chart, truly. But if you'd like help navigating it, well, I sail other waters more often, but I've charted such courses before."
He smiles. "And if not, then fair sailing wherever you sail, eh? Just be sure to enjoy how the boat moves on the swelling seas!"

"It seems the thing to do, then," Nesshin says, "is to set sail, perhaps with a more experienced hand on calm waters. Because thinking's not doing, and doing's what teaches."
He nods.
"But that's perhaps a discussion for another time," he continues, "when you're ready. For now, whom do you look to see perform next? Perhaps Ide Tomeo; it'd be interesting to see how a magistrate works in such circumstances."
