(D2, ME) Erratic Love (Play)

[Bayushi Mitsu]

Another calming breath and displeased "hmph," before she offers the Scorpion a sympathetic look. "Can't be easy having your clan depicted so foolishly either. "What spymaster doesn't actually know their own spies?" Yasu really has very little understanding of the spy business, but that just seems like common sense.

"That was quite incompetent as well. Especially considering the spymaster thought only of how Kaiu-san could be used, but not at all of Kaiu-san. Such lack of compassion for one's fellows..." Bayushi trailed off and then made a pained noise.

"You know, I have heard that life imitates art, but I now realize that perhaps sometimes art has a message for us." He shook his head. "Or rather, the art was poor as we've discussed, but in the flaws we might find lessons for ourselves. I have come across several here who can't see past our masks; I suspect there are also some who may need our help, just like the character in this play."

[Kuni Yasu]

"You know, I have heard that life imitates art, but I now realize that perhaps sometimes art has a message for us." He shook his head. I have come across several here who can't see past our masks; I suspect there are also some who may need our help, just like the character in this play."

"Oh? I admit to being a little concerned if folks here need my help in particular. Though of course I'm trying to remain watchful for it." She offers a sympathetic nod regarding the spymaster's lack of compassion, without really seeing it. Using those who serve you to best effect was only sensible, wasn't it?

"I'd assume Bayushi-sama's skills are a little broader, though." She considers a moment before smiling with a small dip of her head. "So it can be a pity if those around have trouble seeing through your mask. It's just a warning, right? Or that's what I'm told. Folks who can't see through mine? Well that's a comfort, since hopefully that means the spirits'll have trouble as well." The Kuni prefer to have very few secrets beyond their selves, so the meaning and symbolism and even their invocations are all there for the asking.

[Suzume Senseki]

"Kitsuki Edogawa." he returned the bow. "It was enjoyable, but I could not keep myself from considering how I might have handled the situation, which would likely not have been as entertaining. What did you think of it?"

"Hm... I found it quite interesting! It... felt a bit like some of the stories in our lands - those with a moral to them. But then with a romantic bent? Just... maybe the romantic bent was a moral of sorts, too...?"

He seems pensive for a while, then smiles at the man. "Hm. I'm not sure! What do you think? And... if I may ask, how would you have handled the situation? I can't quite imagine how I would have..."

Oof, sorry, spent all of yesterday away from my PC and really couldn't get myself to phone post after doing a bit of it on Alderaan. Hope we can still get something done here XD

“Mmmm, it’s not quite that for me- it is that they lack *depth.*”

"Alright, allow me to try diving deeper then. Which is Kakita-san's favorite character, or hero?" He asks, after thinking for quite a long time.

Sakura smiles, after a moment. “Of the ones in the play? The Miya.”

[Seppun Yuzu]

Sakura smiles, after a moment. “Of the ones in the play? The Miya.”

The Seppun takes a moment to reply as Sakura’s smile demand, and then says, “Mine too. But that would be cliche of me. No?”

He would chuckle, but being a tidy goody two sandals samurai stops him and he simply asks further, “I actually meant if all time. Who’s Kakita-san’s greatest hero?”

[Kitsuki Edogawa]

He seems pensive for a while, then smiles at the man. "Hm. I'm not sure! What do you think? And... if I may ask, how would you have handled the situation? I can't quite imagine how I would have..."

"Well, I tend to ask a lot of questions and I do have some medicinal knowledge, so I likely would have drawn different conclusions than those in the tale. The problem would have been treated sooner." he shrugged. "It likely wouldn't have been as entertaining, though."

[Yasuki Jin]

"You're not wrong, Yasuki-san," she conceded with a dip of her head, and looked about before returning her gaze to her Crab friend.

Jin chuckled at that.

"Betting on trouble makes me more practical than prescient." he said, slurring the words a bit.

He rose unsteadily to his feet.

"I think I should probably call it a night, Usogawa-san. Let me know if you wanna get together sometime for a drink."

[Usogawa Narumi]

Knowing she could not offer assistance to the large Crab without risk of them both collapsing under his weight, she simply nodded. "At your pleasure, Yasuki-san."

He held up a hand. "A warning..." Then the other hand. "A distraction...a defense... It is not useless, perhaps even much of the time." He looked off through the crowds. "It allows me to do things a non-Scorpion could not do without notice. Similar to how yours allows you to confront bad spirits in ways others may not?" He looked back to her.

"Regretfully, the Hour of the Boar approaches, and I still need a cup or two of sake to soothe the soul before slumber." Rising, Bayushi bowed, somehow both respectfully and with a casual air. "Kuni-sama, this has been enlightening."

[Kuni Yasu]

She nods at his assessment of the purpose and value of their respective masks. "Seems they're more alike than I thought then."

"It is getting late, I hope your sleep is untroubled, Bayushi-sama," she offers with a bow at his farewell, rising from her seat to do so.
