Ishioka's face relaxes a little, and he says, quietly and candidly, "I guess we'll see. Usogawa-san seemed... Very interested in what I might have to say. It was... a bit unsettling."

Ishioka gives a tiny snort of laughter at the horse-inspection gestures, then gently nods in agreement. "Of course. Well, is there anything I can look for for you, Kuni-san? Beyond, 'is taller than this Matsu'?" he asks with a gentle smile.

"The Kitsu had an opportunity pass her by. That doesn't preclude her from finding something meaningful or even loving in the future. Who knows, maybe a continuation of this story might lead to an eventual torrid affair, broken hearts and lost love. But where it actually left off was pleasant."

The Suzume seems pensive. "I suppose.", he finally says in a gentle voice. "I suppose that's a thing worth keeping in mind... plays get left off at planned points, life doesn't. It's obvious, maybe, but still." A calm nod and a slight smile. "I must agree, though... it was a pleasant ending."

"Would you be ok in giving me some pointers and I ever need to write one... I am not sure how it even works out. I only know Hantei Genji-shiryo-heika really liked to play it, or so they say."

Minae smiled.

"I would be more than happy to give you private lessons, Seppun-sama." she said. "Seppun-sama only need pick the time and place....after all inspiration can strike anywhere, can it not?"

Yuzu coughs a bit to remind, "I am unsure that private would be the best approach, Bayushi-san. Don't get me wrong, I would need to be focused solely in learning the game. Getting private and all with a maiden in a miai could not be so wise."

There’s a moment of thought. “I know matches can be political, but I’d rather not bring someone home who’s going to be terrified and resentful down there. They don’t need to be ready to commit to the same duty, but I’d rather they understood it at least? Not one of those trying to tell the courts we’re making things up, crying about spiders under the bed or something.”

“How about you? Maybe that height thing was your own requirement? Hmm?”

The Matsu shrugs. Not so it would be seen across the room, but he's clearly less stony in this company. "I am just trying to assist my friend, Kuni-san. Whose description... seems to fit this one rather well," he observes, giving her a look like 'I was giving you an out with the height thing.'
