After some days skipping the plays, the Sparrow once again arrives with his slow steps, staying back for a while as he considers where to sit.

OOC:
Please PM or quote if approached, as always :)

The lanterns are lowered and the play beings!

With Her Passing by Shosuro Naoya

Bayushi Gemmel's brother, Naozane, has cut himself off socially since the mysterious death of his fiancee (Mirumoto Kunie) on the day they were to be wed. Unwilling to let her brother continue to wallow in Sin, she conceives of a bold plan to get him to move on. First, she steals the diary of Mirumoto Kunie. She then convinces one of her actress friends, Shosuro Sui, to pretend to be a Kitsu Sodan Senzo. Armed with the diary, Kitsu Sui convinces Bayushi Naozane that she can communicate with the departed Mirumoto Kunie so he can put to rest his regrets.

Over their sessions of 'summoning' the spirit of Mirumoto Kunie, Bayushi Naozane not only works through his grief, but starts to have romantic feelings for Kitsu Sui, which she reciprocates. Things take a turn for the dramatic when the actual ghost of Mirumoto Kunie appears, angry over not only her death, but this apparent betrayal of her memory. However, using all her skill as an actress, Sui is able to convince Naozane that the spirit is not really Kunie. Losing it's connection to Naozane, the spirit fades away, leaving the two to pursue their romance.

Yuzu just can’t believe what he saw. He’s rendered speechless as he processes the tragedy.

Oh that IS good.

Raizo wasn't sure why he liked it so much, but...

But that was fun!

That lies would have to be the path to make way for love?...

It was a touching play, in many ways. It was beautiful, in an odd way... but clearly a tragedy. It was supposed to be a happy ending - as with most of the plays Senseki had seen since the start of his time here. But... was it?

For one for whom rightenousness was as ingrained as him, it hardly seemed so. Despite the beautiful story, despite its "good" closing... he felt troubled.

Could one live happy when one's life was built upon a web of lies?

He kept pondering, like in many other days, but there was no smile to be seen on the Sparrow's face as he considered the play today. Only some possible confusion and a hint of - properly restrained - pain.
