(D2, ME) Erratic Love (Play)

[Kaikoga Fujiko]

"Well it can be a lot of things", he allowed, trying to understand where she was going with that. He decided maybe she was trying too hard out of nerves. He knew how that was. "So you liked it, I see that. Does Kaikoga-san enjoy plays often?"

"Ah, I... rarely have the opportunity to go see them," she answered, her smile fading. "I usually read stories, so seeing them played, so full of life and excitement, was something new for me."

She sighed whistfully.

"I now recognise I... might have been a bit overeager in my excitement. I hope you won't hold it against me?"

[Shosuro Hikimasu]

"Ah, I... rarely have the opportunity to go see them," she answered, her smile fading. "I usually read stories, so seeing them played, so full of life and excitement, was something new for me."

Mostly as trees or stagehands... once as the villain's father, who they kill in my introduction.

Edogawa sat quietly, watching the play, paying attention to little else.

[Kaikoga Fujiko]

He shook his head. "No, especially if you're new to it", he said, fiddling a bit nervously with his hands. He pointedly stopped and rested them on his knees. "Myself, I've seen many, though I've only acted very little and only small parts."

"Oh, really? I can't imagine how being on stage must be." She raised her hand to where her white hair strand would be if it wasn't done up, grabbed nothing then awkwardly put her hand back down. "I have some experience with the arts, and with how stressful it is to unveil a new piece, if you are the art and must do it more than once, it must be..."

He stopped himself for blabbing on though and realized the Moth had left things open when she talked about herself. "What kind of art are you involved in, Kaikoga-san?"

"Ah, I paint... portraits. Landscapes sometimes. I did a few marine creatures too, but uh, mostly portraits. Yes..." She looked to the side, fighting a blush. "Nothing much to talk about. I do not have that many paintings to my name, although I believe they are usually well received."

"If you say that, I'll have to assume it's true", he said looking back at the stage. It was dark then, as people were still filing out slowly. "Though, maybe you could show me some time, if you'd like."

Honestly, he couldn't do this very well. He had to convince himself to say the words each time. Inviting himself, or inviting someone, a girl especially, to do something with him or grant him something. He had never done so this much in his life, and never had much luck until now. What was this? Just miai fever?

Oh of course, paint the face that makes people look away. Great.

Wait, we? Was she asking him to leave together?

He gulped and stood, picking up his umbrella and daisho.

"I suppose, then", another gulp.

[Usogawa Emiko]

Yet again, the lanterns are dimmed as the play begins!

Erratic Love:

A badly failed acupuncture session leaves Kaiu Haruko wandering the city streets acting in a very erratic manner. Misadventures ensure as she crosses paths with a Kaiu Witch Hunter (who thinks she's under a dark influence), an Asako Inquisitor (that think she's possessed), a Shosuro spymaster (who think she's undercover), a Togashi monk (who think she's found enlightenment), and a kindly Miya courtier (who just wants to help).

Multiple chases ensue as the Kaui and the Asako fight over whether she needs to be purified or exorcised, the Shosuro keeps giving Haruko coded orders which cause her to behave in strangely effective ways, the Togashi keeps trying to study her wisdom and act upon it and the Miya just want to help the poor woman.

By the next day, the acupuncture wears off and a very confused Kaiu Haruko is presented with a marriage proposal from the Miya courtier!

As the play finished, Emiko chuckled softly. It had been quite comedic but overall worse than the previous night. She looked to the Kitsu next to her and asked "what did you think Kitsu-sama?"
