Kyuden Shika

Bayushi Mitsu hovered through the gardens, his mask turning to face the others who wandered through or whispered together in secluded corners. Each time the masked gaze seemed to keep coming back to the trio of tall trees in the garden's focal point.

He stopped beside a a fairly large pool, perhaps gazing at his reflection that rippled grey and red in the water. It looked like it might rain again, though so far it was only a threat and not a reality.

From the paths behind, Hikimasu wandered. What he was looking for didn't seem apparent, if there were anything at all. Though who looks fot where dead eyes search?

Regardless of the truth, the Scorpion happened upon one or his own.

Mitsu, right? What did he give lord Shika?

Maybe he'd been too preoccupied at the time.

Like bait had been left out for them specifically all the Scorpion started coming together at one point.

Luixian swaggered along until she reached the pools edge. Her mask looked over the other two that were there and after bowing she spoke.

"Either one of us is going to have to leave or we're going to have to get a fourth."

Three couldn't be allowed.

Hikimasu immediately felt his hackles rise. That was indeed a bad omen. He looked between Mitsu and the... large woman...? In a mask? Ah, Luixian.

That was a problem. He stepped back, as if to remove himself, then decided standing his ground would... well no, not against her.

"Hoi", he said quietly, with a bow. Maybe if they didn't give names the bad luck wouldn't recognize them, they were in masks, afterall.

"So quick to leave? Not even waiting for a fourth. Not like us or something?" She teased though it was clear she was looking around for a fourth person to drag into this. It was already bad enough luck being here. Tempting it by staying in a group of three would only lead to misfortune later.

Looking first at one of his fellows, then the other, Bayushi Mitsu turned back towards the trees and, like a shock, took a step backing away from the triple monolith. His hand leapt up over his heart with a soft crinkling sound. "Bayushi-san, Shosuro-san...this place is, a little eerie, don't you think?" He didn't sound entirely convinced in his own words. "I felt it from the woods outside the castle yesterday as well..."

"My my, quite the little cabal of plotters I've discovered growing in this garden." Bayushi Minae offered as she sauntered closer, bringing their number up to four. "Should I alert the guards, or perhaps the gardeners?"

Oh...

"That's not something you need worry about", Hikimasu offered.

From what i hear thsl one has enough plotting for four.

"And see. There is our fourth. Just like I told you would happen." A hearty bark of laughter came from underneath her mask.

"Every place in his Kyuden is eerie though Bayushi-san."

She turned to look at the new Bayushi. "Likely the gardeners so Shosuro-san here can show them what a good garden looks like. Isn't that right Shosuro-san?" A mention to the Shosuro gardens.

Minae grins at Luixian.

"Oh so? If Shosuro-san breaks out his gardening skills, might he not decide that you're a bit overgrown, Bayushi-san? He might have to break out his strongest pair of clippers." she said, her voice rich with humor at the idea....which was a nice ward against the creepiness.
