The Kitsu arrived with a drained look in his eyes and heavy thoughts in his heart.

He watched the Shiba floating, and meditating. He almost called out, but instead decided to take a moment to meditate himself - to relax, and hoist the weight off his shoulders.

Once he was unburdened, he arose. His voice still sounded heavy, but all the same it echoed across the water as

Raizo cracked his eyelids. Smiled.

"Hello, Kitsu-san. If this rain keeps up we might all want to be paired with ningyo, wouldn't you say?"

"Or the Mantis, so we may be shipped away to fairer weather."

The Kitsu tries to carry an amused tone, but it's not as lighthearted as it could be.

"Still, you seem to be well, despite the weather. Care to share some of that joy with me?"

"Well. It's actually more a purging of anxieties than joy, but I'll do what I can..."

The Kitsu nodded sympathetically.

"That was the same reason I'm here, honestly. It still amuses me to see you float on the water like that - then again, I've never had much experience with kiho."

"Well. It's the only one I'm ever likely to know. Courtesy of my maternal Grandfather and namesake. It's... relaxing."

"I imagine it must be - just knowing that the water kami will let you sit there, not ruining your clothes or trying to clamor all over you. I always wondered, actually - why is it when one goes into the river, why do the water kami insist you meet the earth kami beneath them, unless you can propel yourself or are on some kind of wood?"

"They're just playing. They hardly know you're there."

He half-smiled.

"That's part of the secret, actually."

The revelation honestly surprised him.

"Huh. I always thought it was some kind of contractual obligation between water and earth kami, oddly enough - shows what I know."
