Hikimasu brought his flute. He stood before the bonfire when he had a chance and diligently played the theme of love for everyone's enjoyment.
It was received well enough, but he wasn't up to showing his passion and received some light attention. Though he hoped those who he wished to hear it did.

The sort of performance called for during the Festival was not the one the Sparrow was most used to, or better at. He was much better at calming and relaxing others, or making them think about things, transmitting morals or suggesting conclusions. Even building rapport with them. But doing something simple and exciting was much harder for him.
Still, he decided to try. He went for a song, with some sort of story, of couse. One about a group of unknown people who spent some time in a village during a festival, and after some hardships and confusions, left the festival as friends.
It was touching, in a way, and it was well done. But it clearly wasn't as exciting as many of the other performances of the night. Still, he seemed pleased enough at his attempt!

On that stage, with her shamisen, the Moshi belted out a composition of her own making. Her smoky, sultry contralto soaring between the notes of precisely plucked passages with considerable volume.
