Nesshin calls in at the House again, bantering as he seems always to do. And he's happy for conversation as the younger staff practice with him; he's safe enough, after all, so why not?

A raincheck would be required on that safety, as the Kitsu wondered into the room. At the entrance, he bowed before the Shika.

"Shika-san, good afternoon. May I join you for a spot? I have... clan business to discuss."

Nesshin nods, gestures to a seat across from himself.

"I'm told the chef is having a good day today. Shall we eat?"

"I would be delighted, thank you."

The Kitsu bowed once more before taking his seat.

"We're close to the end, it seems - how fares the staff, yourself included? Has this been a good miai for you?"

Nesshin cocks an eyebrow at being described as "staff," but makes no comment.

"It's gone well for me," he says. "I've been reminded of things it was useful to have reminders for, and I've met some of the most interesting people.

"I trust as much is true for you?"

He noticed the eyebrow, and assumed the worst.

"I'm sorry, is there a better way to refer to the clan as a whole? Forgive me if there is - I intended no offence. Especially after your advice from our last conversation has found itself to seemingly work, thus far."

Nesshin waves off the apology.

"I believe you," he says. "Seems something's on your mind, though."

The Kitsu nodded, turning serious.

"The war. It feels like we're close to preventing an intervention by the Deer, but for the sake of the people here I wish to be certain. I know, for example, Usogawa Narumi-san's hand is being forced to support the Crane, but not by who. I wish this was not a burden I must come to you with but that said..."

"I have been working to that end, myself," Nesshin says, honestly. "I've no desire to have my kin caught between clapping Hands, after all."

The Kitsu seems relieved to know this, and offers a deep bow from his seat. Thankfully no food was in front of him, lest his face be planted in it.

"Thank you." He gives, softly.

"Truly, I mean it. I gave my word to Katsuteru-sama that I would do what I can to stop that madness - I fear I would not act honourably if I were tasked to write for another here, for a war I knew I didn't prevent. I fear my... distaste for the Crane would move beyond honourable and into something rancid and unbecoming."
