"So you are at an impasse."

He looked at the Scorpion for a while, very uncertain as to what to do.

The Kitsu sat back down, cracking open a bottle of Yume do Sake.

"I'm going to pour some sake. If you so happen to take yourself a cup and sat down with it, I would not be inconvenienced."

Awkward situations required awkward solutions.

She stood very still for some time as he poured the cup. It was a decision though with the offer of sake it wasn't a difficult one.

She moved to the table and sat down after taking a bottle. How many she had drained over the past two weeks was beyond her and even still another would be gone soon.

"I dont know if I'd call it an impasse but I'm sure others would as you have done."

The Kitsu seemed relaxed, now he was back in his seat - not necessarily at ease, but his posture belayed some easing of some tension.

"What would you have called it, I wonder?"

Though he eased some she didn't. On edge she was prepared to leave at any second should the need arise.

"A decision. That's all it is in the end."

The Kitsu nodded. Noticing her tension, he realigned himself, more ready to move and react as needed.

"True enough, I suppose. But the end does not negate the existence of the beginning and mid-point, I believe."

"Nobody ever said that this specific decision would be the end. Only that as I stand on the precipice I choose where to fall. Do I leave or do I go. It is a decision but one that is not the end. When I said 'That is all it is in the end' was more of a figurative statement rather than a literal one." She explained with a shard of exasperation in her voice.

The Kitsu looked at her in some confusion.

How had she got that from what he said?

"I am aware of the expression, yes, and you are right - no one said this was the end."

He hoped the repetition would inform her that no, he was not in fact thinking what she was thinking he was.

"Forget it." She grumbled before taking another long drag from the bottle she had taken.

The Kitsu nodded, taking another drink from his cup.

Perhaps it was for the best.

"Does it taste any better from the bottle?"

"No but it saves me the time and effort of pouring cup after cup." She lifted her hand up and moved it in a circle. Neverending. Then she dropped it back on the table.
