Hearing that, the smile dropped at she looked back at Bo quickly. "That's not true. You are kind, above all things. Considerate.. endearing, even.. Loyal, determined. You take pride in everything you do, and it's without question when you commit to something, it's with a mixture of humility and focus."
She swallowed sandpaper. "Any samurai-ko would be lucky to have you, Asahina-san... Especially this one."

[Asahina Bo]

"Uh, sorry, didn't mean it ta slight you. I just mean that I'm a Crane that can't tell art from a pile of dung and a bushi that doesn't wanna hurt anyone."

[Usogawa Narumi]

"Then renounce being a Crane and take your wife's colours. There's more to life than art and fighting." a serious expression crossed the Otter's features.

[Asahina Bo]

"Well that was the plan. Asahina-sama didn't want me comin' back except to pack." He remembers their past conversations, "Ummm... did you speak to Shika-sama about that? Who marries out to who?"

[Usogawa Narumi]

"Hai," the smile returned, though smaller this time. "You'd marry out, if that's you're wish." A pause. "So we'd be free to travel the rivers and see where they take us."

Another big smile, "Well we can hope that's the fate they have in store for us."

[Usogawa Narumi]

Her lips quirk over to one side and she looks up at the mountain beside her, and laughs incredulously. "Bo-san," it slips and she doesn't notice, "-have you not noticed? Your standing, how well you're doing?... You could have your choice of any samurai-ko here."

[Asahina Bo]

He looks puzzled, "Um... what do you mean? I mean I've muddled through but I can't be doin' that well."

What would that say about everyone else?

[Usogawa Narumi]

"Oh but you are!" she chuckles and shakes her head. "You're the talk of the miai, you've made an impression," if one listens to gossip, that is. Which Narumi most certainly does.

[Asahina Bo]

The big man looked utterly baffled, "They're talkin' about me? Are you sure they don't mean Asahina-san?"
