Having taken some time during the day, Emiko decided she needed to clean up before going out for the evening. Taking some time to clean up, she found her way to the hot springs and slipped into the water with a blissful sigh.

"Ah...I could get used to this..." she said to herself.

And in stumbled a Phoenix, looking to cleanse himself of the day's various annoyances.

All right, I'm out of the fop suit for a little bit, time to clean up and...

By Benten's perfect fucking backside, I thought baths in civilized parts of the Empire were.... well. Segregated by gender.

"If only we could all be so lucky, ne?" Aimi calls as she enters the hot spring, already beginning to pull off her clothing and pile it up neatly by the side of the bath, "Makes a nice change from a cold river, I'll say that much..."

She doesn't seem to have spotted Raizo

There was a small blink of surprise as she heard a voice, having not noticed anyone through the hot spring steam.

"Oh, my apology" Emiko bowed in the direction of the voice "hai, as much as the rivers can be refreshing it doesn't compare to this."

She looks around as her companion addresses someone else, and through the steam spots the somewhat hesitant form of... is that Shiba Raizo? Yes, she thinks it is, but why would he be looking so... oh!

The ronin smirks, and says nothing. She's curious to see how the sullen bushi will handle this.

Because it might be some kind of 'total dishonor' that would lead to me getting cast out?

Eh. How bad could it be if they don't have attendants here with brooms like they do back home?

"We, ah, generally don't do... mixed bathing back home. Do bear with me."

His build, as he stepped forward and slid into the water, could be seen to be relatively powerful despite his average frame. All that trooping around carrying heavy junk had its effect, and a great deal of whipcord musculature was visible, along with only a couple of scars- whatever his military career had involved, whatever combat he'd seen, he hadn't taken any massive injuries yet.

"Welcome. I am Usogawa Emiko. I hope you are well?"

Emiko turned away respectfully again as he entered the water, before giving him a bow.

"Shiba-sama? Good afternoon! I hope you are well?"

"I do not believe so," Aimi replies with a tone of grave seriousness, nodding to the Otter samurai, "A pleasure and an honour, Usogawa-sama. This humble one is named Aimi."

Her lips twitch briefly in a suppressed smile. "And while Shiba-sama is very kind, I feel it would be somewhat presumptuous to call myself a great beauty of the realm. Such storybook characters rarely have windburned cheeks or chipped nails, after all."

Emiko chuckled.

"I would not consider myself a great beauty either, but I accept the kind compliment" she bowed in Raizos direction then looked to Aimi "It's lovely to meet you Aimi-san. Are you here for the miai also? How have you found your stay so far?"
