"Bothersome in that it's something you only do once, and so has to be done well. You only get second chances from people who like you", he said. "So I may be a bit dire over it, but I see it much the same as you." He sighed, and remembered his manners. "Tea?"

He had a pot, and produced an extra cup from somewhere, perhaps some kind of deft, shady movement from his obi.

[Usogawa Narumi]

"If tea is all you've got..." she raises a manicured eyebrow conspiratorially before accepting the cup. "Domo. If you want my advice, Scorpion-san, this is it: Enjoy the journey. Don't be bothered so much by the destination until the end is in sight. Things will occur as they will. The best we can do is perform admirably and stack fortune in our favour so when the time comes, we'll have a say in our own fate."

[Shosuro Hikimasu]

"I'm not the type", he grunted, looking away. He really wasn't, but not in that man of action sort of way, more like in the worry himself to death sort of way. "I'd assume you aren't either." He poured and handed her a cup.

[Usogawa Narumi]

She stared into her cup.
"And what type do you believe me to be?"

[Shosuro Hikimasu]

And now backed into a corner, he stood against the stable post. Yudaina chortled, but Hikimasu managed to look at the Otter samuai.

"The type who knows more of what they're looking for than they let on." He said. "You've said a lot of things that amount to making use of the situation, but I think you might be more than just a survivor."

[Usogawa Narumi]

She did not raise her eyes, though a hint of colour touched her cheeks, this time for a different reason.
"I don't know what I want, Scorpion-san. All I know is it isn't what I have now. There has to be something better."

[Shosuro Hikimasu]

He sipped tea while she answered. "Then you're quite far ahead of me, practically finished the race by comparison."

[Usogawa Narumi]

"I don't think a competition of who is more miserable is one worth winning." her voice was almost a whisper, and her words hung in the air for a moment before she readjusted her On and took a sip of her tea. "Mmm."

[Shosuro Hikimasu]

"Oh, it's not that good", he said about the tea, obviously not hearing her previous comment. "And I can't take credit for it anyway, but I will say it's not bad, for having been brewed by a cat."

Sip.

[Usogawa Narumi]

"A...?" she wasn't sure if she'd heard him right, and so Narumi finally looked up from her cup. "Explain further. This has got to be good." she was happy to move the conversation to less heavy topics as well.
