[D13 EA, Mura's] Favorite Meal

[Kitsu Murato]

Murato had set up the meal much the same as he had early on in the miai with Yasu. It brought back memories that were pleasant but also uncomfortable to think about in context of who he was meeting with. He did his best to banish those thoughts but he couldn't help but see a ghost of Yasu present there. He hoped that when Bai took that same seat it would disappear from his mind. Not just hoped, honestly... expected.

There were two bowls of noodles, two bowls of steaming vegetable broth, and a few smaller bowls of pickled vegetables. Unlike previously, there was no secret fruit or sake to be shared. Instead, he had gotten some mochi for desert that was set aside for now.

He waited... but unlike last time he waited like this there was excitement rather than patience.

[Kaito Oubaihime]

Bai scratched the door frame to announce her arrival.

[Kitsu Murato]

He moved to the door and brought her into the room, sliding it shut behind her. "Bai-chan. I am so happy to have you join me." He offered her a hand.

[Kaito Oubaihime]

The priestess took his hand and followed him into the room. "I hope you had been blessed this day." The Kaito moved a stray hair behind her ear.

[Kitsu Murato]

"You have blessed me twice this day. I woke to your smile and you return to me once more. And now we get the opportunity to be blessed by Inari-no-kami together. This day is full of blessings." He seems to have an unlimited amount of cheer in his eyes for her presence. He guides her to a seat at the low table diagonal from him, but before bidding that she sit with him he kisses the hand she held.

[Kaito Oubaihime]

The Kaito giggled at the gesture. The priestess took a seat and smiled. "I think the light of the Lady Sun has been long overdue. I am glad to have Inari's blessing with you." She gave a seated bow.

[Kitsu Murato]

Sitting as well, he looks to the meal. "So... this. It is technically tsukumen. Rice noodles, a vegetable broth with diced tofu and green onion, with pickled radish and carrot on the side. Most would dip the noodles into the broth, but in my family we pour it in while it is still piping hot," he says with a smile. "So please enjoy before it cools."

He takes up his chopsticks and offers an "Itadakimasu," but waits for his guest to eat first.

"Itadakimasu..." Oubaihime did as instructed and followed. "Mmmm, it is nice and really warm."

Murato pours the steaming broth over his noodles and begins eating. He seems to enjoy it, but spends most of his time, looking to Oubaihime with smiles and curiosity. It's a very simple dish with very simple flavors, but perhaps that is why it is his favorite, the lack of complexity and the somewhat interactive nature of pouring the broth yourself.

When he eventually finishes he pours tea for the two of them and brings out the small plate of mochi. Two different flavors, a raspberry colored and a green colored. Likely raspberry and matcha.

For a long moment he just watches and smiles, not wanting to interrupt her.

Bai was starting to get a bit worried that the Kitsu was so happy? "Are you alright Mura kun?"
