Kyuden Shika

Narumi stirred as sunlight poured through the window, and made a happy sound at the fact that- for the first time in four days- she was not waking up with a hangover.
Instead, the Otter noticed two things: the first, there was no chirp from her lucky cricket wishing her a good morning. The second, which was an infinitely sweeter realization, there was the heavy weight of a rather large arm wrapped around her.
She shuffled and shifted, squirming to roll over so that she would be face-to-face with her slumbering mountain, and propped herself up on one elbow above him. Content to watch him sleep for a bit longer, she moved to tuck a rogue lock of hair back from his features gently.

Bo was a light sleeper, vigilant as a guard should be, so it did not take long after the shifting movement before his eyes flutter open.

"Oh... uh... good mornin'?'

"Good morning, yourself. I've slept better than I have in weeks..." she admits, smiling wider as his eyes open. "You're very comfortable."

He looks up at her with another smile, "Well, here's hopin' there can be many more easy nights ta come."

Colour erupted on her cheeks and she nuzzled into him. "I'd love nothing more." A content sigh. "Are... Do you think you're ready for today?"

A bit of a shrug, "I reckon I'll try my best. That's all I can do. I'm sure all the tests are important but even if this one goes bad I can't imagine it undoin' everything else."

"No, I don't imagine you'd do any less than giving whatever it is your all.
I don't know how you do it. Just do what's put in front of you, i mean. I think it's admirable." His arm made an excellent pillow.

He ponders for a moment, "I mean... um... I guess you just do it?"

"Hm." He can basically hear the wheels turning in her head.
"That's good wisdom."

He looks a little surprised and perplexed, "Uh... it is?"
