[Usogawa Narumi]

"Interesting."
There was absolute and deafening silence inside Narumi's head for approximately 2.6 seconds before everything kicked into high gear and several thoughts tried to process at once.
She squeezed her eyes shut for a moment before reopening them and shifting her position anxiously so she's looking at Bo easier.
"Wait, um..." a part of her dwelled on how seriously messed up it was that Ishioka went straight to him instead of coming to her to talk things through. Another part was hung up on this concept of protection. A third part narrowed in on that last part there....
Narumi's expression softened. "You would? I mean, you want to protect me?"

[Asahina Bo]

As one who often took his fair share of time processing, if for very different reasons, the pause does not register much with Bo though he can tell there's some sort of tension. But he also sense that tension fade, at least for a moment, with the last question and offers a big smile, "Well ya protect the ones you love! He and I'd agree on that at least. So of course I'd protect ya from what I could just like I know you'd do the same for me... different threats, ob...obvi... of course, but the same idea."

[Usogawa Narumi]

"...Obviously," she assists, her voice barely registering above the ambient noise of the inn and the utter fucking carnage inside her head at Ishioka's behaviour until-
Bo grins at her and she dissects what he just said.
Wait.
"I- I.."
Did he just? "Um. Bo-san?"
She rubs a temple idly and tries not to die. "I would do the same, uh, differently. Because I love you too."

[Asahina Bo]

He just continues to smile, "Well of course ya do. Not much point of dreamin' about 'what if' if ya didn't. Hope the Deer think similar."

[Usogawa Narumi]

She couldn't help but laugh a bit, incredulously. That's it? Just like that? "Hai, I hope so, too..."
Her grin is barely contained, and she touches Bo's arm gently again en route to picking up her dropped chopsticks.
"You're sure it's not just because I ambushed you on the first day and haven't left you alone since?"

[Asahina Bo]

"Um I mean I reckon I approached you?" He looks a little puzzled as if he might be misremembering, "Plus ain't that how love works? You get to know someone and grow closer and if it works it works."

[Usogawa Narumi]

"Hai, only because I nearly fainted after you took my breath away at the mere sight of you," she was bright red now. "I doubt you would've noticed me otherwise."

[Asahina Bo]

He tut tuts with good humor, "Hey now! I am a guard!"

He blushes a little in turn, "Might've taken me longer to learn yer name though."

[Usogawa Narumi]

"Well it's a blessing things have worked out the way they did, then, hm?" she picks up a piece of fish and pops it in her mouth.

[Asahina Bo]

He smiles and nods, "Just have ta hope the Deer see it that way too. But it does seem like somethin' or someone is smilin' at us."
