"And yet, there I sit most days, reading and filing reports, submitting them in triplicate, covering my hands in ink," he says. "They don't even let me do the fun stuff like picking fights or argue with people."

"Sounds less like a courtier and more like some paper pusher Kitsuki. Courtier's always make me think being in court rather than pushing papers around."

"Same job different 'weapon'" he says, using air quotes. "Spear vs sword sort of thing. We're all jackasses until we learn to pick up a weapon in my opinion anyway. Which tends to be a general Lion outlook."

"That's at least what all the jokes say isn't it? Born with a weapon in hand and chanting the marching songs?" She snorted. Amused by her own joke.

"Those poor Lion mothers," he says with a smirk. "Especially for the ones that had kids with a dai-tsuchi. That would have to be uncomfortable."

"Such is being a Lion no?" A snort. "What was your weapon then? Wakizashi?"

He shakes his head. "Yumi. Though I've since added to my collection. I think I like my katana most now. Mom's lucky I didn't come with that one pre-equipped I suppose."

"Yumi was probably a bit easier to push out. Though at least it's better than Scorpion. Similar joke to the Lions but with masks instead of weapons."
