Oubahime sighed. "I just want you to be you... nothing else." She moved her hand back to her lap. "I don't need to be impressed by you."

"I... may not be explaining what I mean properly," he says, reaching over and holding one of her hands in her lap.

"I... am a flower. I wish to be the most vibrant flower I can be. I will grow and bloom. And when I do so it will be towards the light. When I look at you, I see that light. You don't change my nature or make me into something I am not already. I don't grow to impress you. But I am drawn to your light and it makes me stronger anyway."

"I am no sun Kitsu sama..." she was somewhat abashed. "Pleas don't bloom too quickly." She averted his eyes.

"I understand Bai-chan. But you are a warm light that draws people. I will be a patient flower that waits until you shine your light fully on me to bloom. But I feel that there is a connection that has the potential to become something wonderful. Until that day comes I will still be just a bud, watching and waiting."

"Until then," he moves to sit beside her. "I would like to hear about your dreams for the future. What is it that Bai-chan hopes to one day see, do or otherwise experience?"

The girl grew sad. "Or makes them go away... because it is too warm."

He pulls closed to her, opening an arm so that she can sit against him if she wishes. "I am not going anywhere. You won't make me go away. Not unless you tell me to. I wish to be near you."

She moved closer. "Arigatou... Kitsu... Mura kun." the Kaito placed her head on his shoulder and an arm around his waist.

"And thank you," he says softly, placing an arm around her.

The warmth of her body against his was comforting. His own body was perhaps surprisingly strong. He was a bureaucrat by trade but he had a warrior physique with some slight padding. His embracing arm held her close trying to comfort her.
