(D0, EM) Oh Lawd He Comin'

[Asahina Bo]

Thudding footfalls quickly moved into the distance though thankfully a wide stride meant there were not too many to disturb other guests.

Bo returns shortly with his large hands full. A jug of water, a steaming teapot, and multiple cups balanced surprisingly well.

"Um they had tea ready too... and it didn't feel right to yell and ask watchya might prefer... so, uh, I brought both. I hope it's ok."

[Usogawa Narumi]

Her dark brown eyes widen tremendously at the sight of the mountainous man carrying back so much. "This should be just fine. You're so thoughtful! I'm sure I'll be alright, I just need a few minutes to catch up with myself.
I am called Usogawa Narumi, matchmaker-in-training, here to be matched... apparently." she paused, and took a seat, motioning for him to do so as well.
"...This is the part where you introduce yourself, so I might thank you properly." Narumi's cheeks were beginning to hurt from smiling at him so...

He probably would have remembered without prompting... probably.

The reminder did, however, nudge him into more proper etiquette if only for a moment, "Ah, um, I'm Asahina Bo. It's, uh, a pleasure to meet you Usogawa..." Recalling the unfamiliar name takes a moment of effort leading to his brain completely blue-screening when it realizes it doesn't recognize the clan, "..sam."

That was definitely a 'sam' not a 'san' nor a 'sama'. No, definitely a 'sam' perhaps in the hopes the listener would hear what they expected to hear. Though the growing red in his cheeks suggests even this level of 'duplicity' is a strain on him.

[Usogawa Narumi]

Her head tilts to the side a bit as she watches his obvious internal stuttering, and she feels her cheeks flush along with him.
"We are well met, Asahina-san."
She placed her hand on her chest again, mentally willing her heart to stop skipping beats and calm itself. Peculiar.
"You're, uh, here for the miai as well, I assume?" Please say yes, the urgency of the thought surprised her.

"Oh right." He nods earnestly happy to change the subject, "Yes, yes I am! Kinda exciting. Come as one person maybe leave as another? Maybe go somewhere you've never been before!"

[Usogawa Narumi]

"And who is it you're hoping to leave as, Crane-san?" she paused, and took a deep breath.
"This one hopes wherever she ends up, travelling continues to be a part of her way of life. I am not ready to set down roots, not just yet. There's still so much to see."

[Asahina Bo]

There's a brief shrug though his eyes light up at the end, "Never gave it much thought. I mean it's in the matchmaker's hands, right? But you get to travel a lot? You're so lucky!"

[Usogawa Narumi]

"Well... the Otter have no homelands to return home to, so all we do is travel. I have grown up going to sleep somewhere new nearly every night of my life. Being landlocked here for a few weeks will certainly be an adventure of a different sort.
Is ... is this your first time outside Crane lands, Asahina-san?"

Otter. Uso... Usoga... Usogawa? Usogawa are Otters.

He almost misses the question with the brief swelling of pride at his realization... and remembering.

A nod, "I mean Crane lands are big, real big, and I got to see a decent amount... well when I was a kid. But this is the first time outside."

[Usogawa Narumi]

She nods, "So it's been a long time, if you've not done much travelling since your childhood." she considered.
"Is there anything you're excited to try? Something you may not have at home, but have heard rumour of and thought to yourself, Yes, that is something that this one needs to experience?"
