He nods, "Go wouldn't be too bad I guess. I'm not that great at thinkin' ahead a lot but some of it works with what Daidoji-sensei teaches it feels. If it's art I'm doomed."

[Usogawa Narumi]

She starts on the meal, and takes a bite- "Mm! This is so good!" she's not surprised, per se, as she figured when Asahina-san said he knew how to cook, he meant it. It's still a fantastic way to start the morning.
She steals another quick bite and follows it up with a sip of tea. "You're not an artist? I'm not either, I never really took to it."

He finishes chewing his own bit and swallows as he nods, "Yeah. I reckon that was as disappointin' to my folks as not hearin' the kami. Not that they don't love me as I am but I ain't exactly the best fit for the family."

[Usogawa Narumi]

"Well... You find your own way." she offered supportively. "We all have our strengths, and while they might not fit into preconceived boxes, it does not invalidate them."

[Asahina Bo]

He slurps some of the spiced noodles and nods, "Oh yeah. It don't really bother me anymore. It was worse as a kid before we knew my path. Tryin' to fit so many different shoes that weren't for me."

[Usogawa Narumi]

"Hm. That doesn't sound fun at all, I agree, I'm sorry," Narumi stole another bite. "I had the opposite: no choice at all," she kept her expression neutral.
"But we make the best with what we have, don't we? No reason to dwell on the would've's and could've's, it doesn't help any. Just brings strife."

[Asahina Bo]

He pauses and ponders ponderously, "So... in that case it's good if you get married out. Then you can get ta be who you want ta be."

[Usogawa Narumi]

She gave the mountain a thoughtful smile, but it didn't reach her eyes.
"I'm afraid then I'll be whoever my husband wants me to be, Asahina-san. Don't get me wrong, I'm not really complaining. It's just how it is."

[Asahina Bo]

"Why's that?" He seems a little lost, "They're your spouse not your lord. You might take their name but they don't got any right to tell ya who to be any more than you do them."

[Usogawa Narumi]

"That's just it, though, isn't it? I don't know if who I'd be if given the chance," other than a thief, or a fence, but she's not about to bring that up.
"Hopefully I have a husband who's keen on helping me figure that out."
She twisted noodles around with her chopsticks, focusing on the bowl intently, suddenly not wanting to talk about herself anymore.
"We should go do something together here, Asahina-san. If you could do anything inside Kyuden Shika, where would your heart lead you? Beyond the kitchen, that is," she adds with a small smile.
