[Kitsuki Kiyonobu]

"How fortunate for you, Agasha-san," Kiyonobu said politely.

"The miai has been pleasant enough so far," he said in answer to Hajime's question. "Though perhaps it is too early yet to make a judgement. I do look forward to meeting more people here. I understand the matchmakers will make some assessment of each of us, before assigning us a match? I hope that goes favorably for us all."

[Kitsuki Hajime]

"Hopefully." Hajime nodded slowly. "It would have rather unfortunate ramifications if we were found wanting." He turned his head to the side. "Agasha-san has been rather frank in her preferences for adventurous, experienced Lion clan members. I wonder, have either of you developed similarly strong opinions? I, personally, find myself a little adrift. Unsure."

[Kitsuki Edogawa]

"I am uncertain." Edogawa said after sampling a mushroom. "Adventurous does sound nice, though."

[Kitsuki Kiyonobu]

"It is too soon to form such an opinion," Kiyonobu stated. "I believe more data is required in order to make a judgement. The nakado will give us some guidance, of course, but perhaps we might also consider sharing information among ourselves?"

[Kitsuki Hajime]

"I hope that I can be of service to you all," Hajime replied. "I have begun keeping notes on those I meet, and while I would hate to prejudice a first meeting, I would be happy to share. That is, if you'd like."

[Kitsuki Edogawa]

"I would be interested." Edogawa spoke up.

[Kitsuki Hajime]

Hajime nodded once. "Ah, let's see..."

He stood and reached under his pillow for the requisite book, gave it a quick rifle-through, and pulled out a sheet of paper.

"As Kiyonobu-sama has mentioned, this is a trifle early, but as a first impression:

Seppun Yuzu is a catch in terms of position. On the other hand, his mother has rather prepared the ground in her favor before his arrival. He is naive and a touch ignorant, though he covers it as best he can. I noticed a desire for decorum, but I cannot say what would happen were he to be tempted with a good time." A half-shrug.

On the other end of the spectrum, Shika Nesshin is a guardsman. Good with the spear, but...rather direct with his flirtation. I found some of it flattering, but one needs to understand that propriety will not be long observed, particularly if one is alone with him.

Then there is Shiba Raizo. A bushi's bushi, entirely uncomfortable with the miai. He was quite frank about his situation, lack of preparation, and dependency on others. A possible ally, if shown a little consideration, though entanglement could lead to embarrassment when someone inevitably provokes him.

I briefly met Shosuro Hikimasu as well...there is something the matter with his eyes, but he seemed personable enough. Reserved, a bit, but one expects that of a first meeting. He and Shiba-san bonded over their martial duties, and I think there is quite a bit of "I am just a simple bushi" business going on."

He set the sheets down. "I feel as though there is quite a bit of that going on in general. I am not sure why bushi feel the need to lower expectations by deprecating their abilities, but I have encountered it from two so far, and expect to have it from more before the day is out."

He then folded the sheets back up and tucked them into the sleeve of his kimono.

[Agasha Inoshishi]

Inoshishi pipes up again ((OOC: sorry, RL ate me)):

“All the lion seen really nice! I had breakfast with that scarred Crane, the ronin, Aimi, and a Scorpion. The Crane is really hot tempered.

I guess maybe I should pay more attention to status? But is there really much we can do other than try our hardest and see what happens?”

[Kitsuki Hajime]

Hajime inclined his head. "Possibly. But there are two in every relationship, Agasha-sama. And I think it is possible that two working as a team are somewhat more likely to find themselves wed to each other than one working on their own to wed someone they wish for. Knowing whom one wishes to team up with is a key part of the question, though. Then would come convincing the other person to make a go of it, knowing that the ultimate choice may possibly be out of your hands."

[Agasha Inoshishi]

Inoshishi nods.

“That makes sense! I know I want to find a partner that is a genuine partner. Makes doing your duty to the best of your ability easier when you’re both pointed in the same direction.”
